  • Hi everyone!

    I decided to get back to get back Construct after a couple of years without messing around with the tool.

    One of the reasons why I stopped using it was because I moved to Apple computers, during C2 days, and that added an extra challenge to the whole game-making endeavours.

    Well, I had a new idea for a game, and I decided it was time to jump back and prototype it!

    I got the C3 license and everything has been a breeze apart from one thing:

    When writing on input fields, I can use the ALT + <left/right> to navigate the cursor work by word.

    I can't, however, use the ALT + SHIFT + <left/right> to select the word as I move around.

    This breaks my flow, because then it requires me to either a) move my hands away from keyboard to use the mouse or b) use SHIFT + <left/right> to get the selection character by character.

    This kind of breaks how every single other input field works out there.

    Anyone else experiencing it?

    Is there a reason why this happens? If not, can it be fixed?

  • Hey! That's quite cool!

    I decided to get back to Construct after a few years to build a prototype of a clicker myself.

    MAYBE if it works I'll also set up a template, so I'm trying to be as agnostic as possible (but also moving fast since it's still a prototype).

    I'm trying to figure out a few things and I'm about to go on vacation, but send me a message if you're interested in sharing knowledge ;)

    I'm wondering: Did you build the game on the original resolution, or is the graphics scaled up?

    This new version of construct added more interpolation expressions:

    "New interpolation system expressions: qarp (quadratic interpolation through 3 points), cubic (cubic interpolation through 4 points), and cosp (cosine interpolation)"

    I was wondering it it's possible to use them for animating the Ease IN.

    I tried messing with the values for the other points, to no results... Does anyone know how can I do this?

    I know of the fantastic behavior for tweening EaseTween (still think it should be added as something official!), but I was trying to achieve this without any 3rd party plugins.

  • There's no way to tell which color is the "official" one: You monitor would have to calibrated to the finest standards for you to see the color as it should be...

    The changes in color are expected even between devices, I have two iPads here at work and both of them show some difference (same brightness).

  • Hi guys! I'm sorry the file isn't there anymore!

    The new changes made by Ashley (the first post is from 2 years ago!) have improved the multiple resolution issue in a way that this example is obsolete...

    I'll add that info to the main post.

    In any case: what sort of trouble are you guys having?

  • The only way I can think Construct 2 could be improved in terms of performance is to have spritesheets shared between animations (I may be wrong, but I remember seeing the folders separated by animations).

    But the spritesheet system is already robust and awesome enough for our needs!

  • ArcadEd Thanks man! It's a real shame... I'm still gonna try the Crosswalk, but it crashes my app after I run it on the device and I don't know how to get the error log .

  • I got a question as well: I just built an android apk in Ludei's website, and while everything's running smoothly enough, the "Powered by Ludei" splash screen keeps flickering everytime I load the app. You guys know how to fix this? is it fixable?

    EDIT: I used the 2.0 beta - mainly because I have no ADs, Leaderboards, and so on.
