  • Interesting!

  • Thanks.

  • I will use the autosave, thanks.

  • Event sheet:

    1.

    +PlayerSprite is overlapping Box1

    >Show Text: "player overlaps box1"

    2.

    +(invert) PlayerSprite is overlapping Box1

    >Show Text: "player is not overlapping"

    3.

    +PlayerSprite is overlapping Box2

    > Show Text: "player is overlapping box2"

When PlayerSprite is overlapping Box2, events 2 and 3 are true. (Is that correct?)

Question: why does construct give priority to event 3 (when PlayerSprite is overlapping Box2)?

(Note: I used "opacity" instead of a text in my event sheet.)

  • I would like to see the following:

Construct counting all actions you do and warning you after reaching a set amount.

This way I get reminded to make a backup, in case the project-file gets corrupt and I have to redo everything I did between the last saved file and the newly corrupted file (not that it happens often, only once and couldn't reproduce the error).

When implemented, this option can be turned off, by default.

Hmm... my English... What I mean to say is: by default, the developers can choose to set this option turned off, by default (so that you don't get bothered with pop-up windows).

For example: having set the action-limit to 50. When Construct notices I did my 50st action, it tells me. Now I can save the project under another filename, so that I back up frequently.

If you were to compare Construct and Stencyl as robots, Construct would be the T-1000 (a seriously baddass and incredibly advanced robot...err, Cyborg).

Wait, isn't it an Android created with manufactured organic skin and flesh? I thought a cyborg was a human that is augmented by robotics...?

    Oh, ok. Now I see

I've been watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles recently, so I'd say: yeah, android.

The joke is that Stencyl has nothing at all to show. Who knows what the interface will look like, let alone any examples of games?

The "April Mini-Update" was just yet another repeat of what they've been saying for a long time now. "We've made plenty of progress, but we can't show you ANY of it. The Beta testing will start eventually... but YOU probably won't be invited (I'm not specifically referring to YOU )".

    Meh.

And what about that Terminator 2-dude and the robot dog? I want to understand the joke.

  • Actually... this is more appropriate.

(sorry, but the April "mini update" was laughable at best.)

What? I don't get the picture and why was the april update laughable at best?

I would worry, staying in a private beta, that all that type of testing was not being done, and those bugs would still be present at release.

They might be worried to get a "buggy-product"-image.

It seems that instead of from buggy to stable, they prefer the on-the-surface-stable (when users don't do anything "crazy") release.

  • Nice find. Interesting to know, and to bookmark, to check out their progress.
