  • They can't have an unlimited editor out in the wild. It could be copied endlessly.

    Oh really?

Well if that is the case C2 should be bug free after 5 years right?

Visited the C2 bug section lately?

    Ha!

Most of those would be called "features" in Construct Classic.

Events can be abused way easier than code, and even the templates that come with C2 aren't designed for performance necessarily.

There's dozens of different ways to do things, and many of those are just terrible for performance.

I'm telling you there needs to be some exposition into the proper use of them.

You make a "for each object" that runs every tick, then the exporter should give a warning, etc.

  • So basically expectedpixelspersecond*dt does not equal pixelsexpectedpersecond

  • Well you can read easypeasy. It's just the upload that's iffy.

Looks like the usual method is with node, kind of like what Firebase does.

Ftpbox sounds interesting, especially with Dropbox losing its usefulness.

  • Is ftp planned for making project saves, and exports?

  • Basic Spriter is free, but I guess an Iframe with whatever html you need to animate it would be the quickest solution.

  • There is no way to render svg content in the webgl engine currently.

The only method would be to export the animation to frames.

Another method might be rebuilding the animation as a multi-image animation using another editor such as Spriter.

  • You mean an expression like dt? Delta pixel?

The amount of angst is quite noticeable, and I'm sure they will pay attention to it, but the direction they've chosen, while somewhat niche, is more than sustainable.

It's not about what it can't do, it's about what it does do, and they've overcome one roadblock to getting the billions of people on the internet to try it with a single button.

The things they have to worry about now are the worth, and the retention.

To be honest I'm not seeing the value yet, but it's very early still.

Once its established, and running well, then you can start asking for things, that's where the retention comes in.

Asking for things that are exceptionally convoluted now is just pointless.

I must say the outlook for gaming in general must be pretty bad when the market example is Fnaf.

I say that as my latest update to a mobile project no longer shows ads.

So yeah, I'm quite disgusted with the whole thing in general.

But I'll go change my underwear, and pray that that fixes something, since that's just about my only recourse, then try again.

Then again I don't see anyone asking how well the Xbox export works.
