  • I find most java programs I've ever used are pretty slow.

Same here. Compared to construct's DirectX runtime, java would feel super slow. Also, I'm pretty sure construct depends on directX for tons of features... so how feasible is this idea? (I honestly don't know, not being cocky or anything )

  • Happens on resized sprites, not on 1:1 rate size'd sprites.

And you're sure of this how?

  • really great.

Like i said, it reminds me of RA2 music.

  • Put it on the tracker. seems irritating.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • This build is pretty stable, I agree, but there's one thing that's desperately in need of a hotfix. The collision bug still stands, and I'm making a cap right now to prove it. Collision accuracy is one of the most important features in construct, and having a bug this bad is enough to make me hope that this build is going to get hotfixed sooner than later.

    edit:

    GET THE CAP HERE: http://files.getdropbox.com/u/1010927/S ... Tester.cap

You may have to relaunch the runtime multiple times for the bug to appear.

  • I know, sometimes the placement boundary can be 1 pixel thick. You're there for like a minute trying to not let it slip out.Would it be safe to use the 'Davo Howler' classification (on the bug tracker) for this bug?

  • People love when you use Dropbox, and you'll love using it too.

  • Cool game.

The rockets strike without warning, maybe add something which gives you an indication that ones about to fire.

  • I was exploring the possibilities of audio analysis a while back too. The only things you can really use are get peak level and RMS level (if your using Xaudio2). However this method won't really work for real songs, as the levels are consantly twitching around and tough to work with. Using a song I created, I split the tracks into separate channels and all played them back simultaneously, that way I have more control with the get peak and RMS levels commands. For pitch and other stuff though, it's not possible with Xaudio2 I'm afraid. The only thing you have to really work with are volume and rythm.

  • wait... how is random() bugged?

  • It reminds me a lot of my compo game space cowboyz. Pretty good little game, but the player 'runs' even when stopped, which is an eyesore. I expect a bit more polish from little games like this since they are so very simple to put together. It needs an extra layer of something to bump up the gameplay/feel. Not saying it's bad, just telling you what a fellow designer thinks.

  • they have to be in the files folder, not the sounds folder. If it's not that, then I don't know what's going on.
