  • I hate to say this, but one look at the graphics made me think that this is a joke project. The old man in particular is pretty funny.

SuperV might be right, though. If the gameplay is good then the graphics might even add a certain charm to it.

  • I was hoping that there was a better way to do it then what I found over the weekend...

I checked out the System Expressions section like Ashley suggested and the "Left" function sounded like what I wanted. It works... but its really tedious since it seems like you can input a number and only a number for the amount of characters that you want to have displayed.

I was hoping that there was a way to tell it to do a series of numbers or something like that, but it looks like Pixelrebirth and ansmesnobody already have a better way of doing it. Sooo... never mind.

    -thanks!

  • Okay, thank you.

  • This is hardly important, but I was wondering if this could be added to the text box object sometime in the future.

Instead of displaying the entire contents of a text box all at once some games make the sentances appear one word at a time, sort of like a typewriter effect. Usually you can speed up the typing by holding down an action key.

Adjustable speed settings would be nice, as well as maybe an option to print the text one line at a time rather than one word.

(sorry if this is already possible... I didn't see any options related to it)

  • Thank you very much!

I wanted to give players the ability to choose the colors for different parts of their outfit, and this cap immediately came to mind.

  • Could you please repost the download link for the .cap that you posted, Linkman? It sends me to a page where I can download the IOJ client but I don't see any option to download your file.

    -thanks!

  • Your art style is really great. I especially like the descriptions for certain items that you can read. It really gives it a classic feel. This might not make any sense, but it sort of feels like an old DOS game (I mean that in a good way).

Congratulations on lowering the bar for us all, Mr. and Mrs. Martin. You had might as well start saving up now for the therapy bills.

(I suppose it IS possible that they are just fans of the Kabbalah.... nahhh)

  • Maybe also make the missiles heat-seeking (or I guess "asteroid seeking" since asteroids don't give off heat ).

    Magnetic.

(unless they're mostly rock and ice... )

Did you make your own movement system or did you use one of the existing behaviors?

  • We're looking for programmers (Construct), GRAPHICIANS and music/sound makers. If you'd like to join, let us now.

I have to ask... is this a real term or does it just sound like it should be?

    (also, very nice spritework)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • What is that background man?

I'd like to know, myself. Someone posted it on RT and they didn't know where they got it themselves. There doesn't seem to be a signature anywhere, unfortunately.

  • It should be relatively easy to code it yourself, perhaps in conjunction with the rts object

Yeah, wait x milliseconds and if nothing is occupying the same space, turn 90 degrees and walk for another x milliseconds, then check the space around you again and turn another 90 degrees, etc. Wouldn't take long to get it right.

I was just kind of thinking; "Too bad there isn't a 'random movement' button' to make things faster."
