A while back Quazi made a "blob gear" cap file which you may find does something similar (combining objects to look as one fluid). I think this would not affect the actual shadows made, so you can instead make the light object invisible and use sprites to represent the lighting.

Ah I'm sorry, the trigger once should be a sub-event of each to avoid messing with the Else, and then move the actions for each event down into the sub-event.

So it'd be like this:

[Event 1] [NO ACTIONS]

+[Subevent trigger once] [ACTIONS]

[ELSE] [NO ACTIONS]

+[Subevent trigger once] [ACTIONS]

Guisouro, adding another condition to the top event with System condition "Trigger Once While True" should fix that, same with the Else event.

This way it will only play the animation once until the situation changes

If you're placing static things over the video then perhaps the simplest method is to edit the video itself <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Replace on collision with "is overlapping", and then you can put an else event below to close the gate, hope that helps!

You can try Tiled Map Editor, I think it even has some plugins in CC and C2 for importing the maps: http://www.mapeditor.org/

I'm not sure if R0J0hound's Texture Setter plugin would help here, but if it can pull the texture off the video and then copy it to a Sprite you might be able to get around this.
