  • EDIT: Ok, before this turns into a "i'm right, your wrong" argument. You are correct in saying that people can apply these effects outside of Construct's picture editor or with an external program, and I am just asking Ashley if in the future he would consider allowing people to apply the effects inside of the picture editor.

Woah woah woah... woah man, you cant apply just these effects in picture and then its the same like the pixel shader effect, they created them for a reason.

    Like for ex. Soften

    http://www.mediafire.com/?noio9dzyjom click 1 & 2 to switch box position

We have two circles, one have soften effect other is with already applied effect in picture editor. And yes you could do it with alpha channel but you dont control the effect so swifly like in pixel shaders, you can disable the effect in events and the object is not changed like in pre-made effects, so if you want to change states "with soften and without" you have to make another animation/object or whatever not just "disable effect".

  • Well programmers should add in options a feature that disables the Pixel Shader effects or change them with effects that dont require good hardware its really up to programmer of the game.

  • Hey Jayjay you know how semi-transparent things were represented in old games?

    <img src="http://caoimhin.mooo.com/upload/1216226387.jpg">

Yep a grid i dont think that would be pretty.

Also the glow effects you can have in most every graphic program like Photoshop or Gimp, Picture Editor should be simple only to correct the graphic for game.

  • I cant think of any and probably no solution other than creating event for every possibility, btw thats the curse of programing a lot of events...

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • For the record, I wouldn't play a text-based game. I have too many non-text games to play.

What's the matter? Too complex ?

  • Works perfectly for me too and i have the same graphic card, maybe you dont have good drivers?

  • If you got that far, then why not just make the 3D game in ordinary Python? A lot of people request this kind of 3D feature, but I think developing 3D games needs scripting and specialist ability beyond the scope of Construct. If something pretty basic like a doom-engine was implemented, it would be nothing more than a gimmick - I don't think it'd turn out any serious games, and it's a lot of effort to reproduce 1993 technology.

Since Construct is open-source the possibility is that somebody could some day adapt it for fully-3D uses like that, but I'm not interested in coding that - I'll go as far as 2.5D because that kind of 3D is very usable and easy to drop in and easy to code, with real benefits (people have done impressive stuff with the proof-of-concept 3D box object already).

    In other words

3D in Construct is Different Dimension!

  • OK i modified your cap.

Also added one point in MainChar for swordhand to be.

  • How about a Distance condition? If mouse is too far from swordsman then you cant swing.

  • And you're right it doesnt. Should i report it at sourceforge?

  • Do Time Scaling should affect Physics behavior?

  • Yep in Behaviors you have Wrap, you can also set margins of wrap field and directions, for ex. dont wrap from right.
