  • It is LGPL. That means that unless you supply your own modified DLL for libnoise, you can use it for commercial games.

If you modify libnoise, and supply your own DLL (which I heavily doubt you intend on doing), then you could still release the game commercially, you'd just have to open source it.

  • Sure, just list the ones you need, cause I don't have them sorted by author, and I'll mirror them for you.

  • I had to piece this together off the russian site a while back. It was in several pieces and I had to hack it up with notepad to fix it, so I'm pretty sure I'm the last person with a copy of it. :P

    Enjoy.

  • There is an expression to retrieve the name of the thing that triggered the last condition, you use that along with other expressions to retrieve that stuff.

  • The whole point of Classic's existence is what? Wow. Not even going there. I will ask you to check history and/or facts, however.

Your opinions are duly noted. However, do note that many things GWEN does are not possible in Construct, regardless of how hard you work on your user interface.

  • To be frank, there is more than one reason that porting it to Construct 2 is not possible:

    • Construct 2 uses JavaScript for plugins, not C++.
    • GWEN (the library the plugin is based off of) is written in C++.
    • I have many other projects on my plate right now, including some other commissioned plugins for profit.

I appreciate the offer, but there's way too much going on right now, and if my next project takes off, GWEN will become obsolete anyway, as all major plugins will have to be restructured into Python.

This is my next project. Just started getting the infrastructure set up. One of my main goals is to make Construct Classic cross platform, and to do that I have to change how plugins work. Obviously this is going to keep me busy for quite a while, but I'm hoping that when I'm done, CT outshines CC and rivals C2.

  • You can't update a Construct Classic plugin to work with Construct 2. Construct Classic plugins are written in C++, Construct 2 plugins are scripted in JavaScript.

If you request this in the appropriate forum, I'm sure you will get better results, especially since Luomu is AWOL.

  • All plugins have been found. Mods please close.

  • n the left sidebar, there's a link that says "MIT License" and that links to the MIT License.

That links to a description of what MIT is, and a sample template. It isn't the license for GWEN. When I saw that I figured Garry just hadn't made one yet. On Github he actually has one set up properly, but Github was set up 17 days ago.

e don't have an ill intent. We just want to see that those who did the work get proper credit. He's violating the license, and he's not crediting garry - even though the license permits that, it's still pretty rude. Nothing we've said was a false accusation.

There are three false accusations in this post alone. I did credit Garry. I did do the work. I did not violate the license.

I have nothing but good intentions for this community. I've spent countless hours of development time trying to keep it from dying a slow death due to the release of Construct 2. The payment options of GWEN have resulted in it only getting out to five or six people, so in the interests of this community I've actually been considering sending out refunds and releasing it for free, so it actually gets used by more people, helping the community in the long run. I'd been considering that before you white knights showed up, but unfortunately I don't have the funds to do it, so GWEN will remain closed to payment for now out of respect for the people that have bought it.

There are plenty of causes out there to white knight. Coming into our community and attacking someone blindly without knowing what you are even talking about is not one of them.

  • On IRC, when I started making it, and more importantly, in the readme, in the credit to other authors and legal notes:

    Special Thanks           :

Legal Notes              : This work is based on, but does not modify,

GWEN, an MIT licensed library written by

Garry Newman for the Source engine.

Human readable license: If you purchase

GWEN, you may use it for independent

games, which I define as any game or

application making either no money or

                      under $3500.

Blockbuster hits that make above that

amount need to contact me at

                      bmprovan@gmail.com for a $99 unlimited

                      license.

Piracy note: I cannot stop the unlicensed

use of GWEN, but know that you are not

sticking it to a big corporation, you're

hurting a guy that works at Walmart every

night that made this in his spare time.

A guy that has trouble eating every night

                      on his salary.

    ======================================================================

    So get off my back.

ou have not done so any thereby broken the license agreement.

<img src="smileys/smiley29.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> The license you are quoting was not present on the Google Code page, which is all that existed when I ported this last year. The only mention of a license on that page was "Released under a "do whatever you want" MIT license." That was it. So, frankly, without a license, he's lucky I mentioned him at all. But hey - I'm a nice guy, and people deserve credit for their work.

This is the first I've heard of his migration to GitHub, where a license appears to be present. I can include that in the package as well if you like, but I never claimed to invent GWEN. I claimed to create the plugin that made it easy to use in Construct Classic.

EDIT: There, included. Now he's mentioned twice. Feel free to purchase it and verify. I could use the money.

  • I've said from the very beginning that GWEN was originally made by Garry, and that I was porting it to Construct.

GWEN is also MIT licensed, which means Garry doesn't really care. Do you really think I would have attempted to release it without studying this? Not to mention that I approached Garry to ask if it was cool and received no reply.

Perhaps you guys should get your facts straight before jumping to conclusions. I've made maybe $25 total off of GWEN, which is less than half of minimum wage for how much work it took to get it rendering in Construct.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • The SDK has had minor modifications in the last few years, but they aren't anything worth rebuilding over. Mostly convenience functions added by lucid. If you needed them, you'd know.
