  • Well, did it work out for you?

  • You could make mouse-aim just bend her torso, arms, and head ever so slightly in conjunction so that you get a decent range for firing. There could be a min/max angle for firing so it doesn't break the animation on the sprite, which means that you'd still have to move up/down in order to get things out of range.

As for the chain sprite, make it the front face of another 3D box (leave the other faces blank) and it'll sort itself out

  • These are all good ideas, but this one is the one I need most:

-Pressing enter in the action window should not only work for "next" but also for "finnish".

I still hit Enter all the time expecting it to finish out the window .

-Insert new condition, Insert sub-event, invert condition, insert event, insert comment, insert group, and include event sheet should be replaced by; Condition, Sub-event, Invert, Event, Comment, Group and Event sheet.

Yep, quick-scanning the dropdown is pretty annoying because it's all

Takes like a matter of milliseconds extra, but that's a huge gap mentally where's you're just thinking to yourself "dammit this is slow. Why does everything start with 'in' " So it's not really all that much slower, it just seems that way if you get my drift, which is just as important.

  • As far as I know, Evolution Theory says that we evolved by monkeys and several other creatures.

That's casting it in a rather simple light. Do yourself a favor and study up on the material. At the very least, it'll make arguing your point of view easier.

Also, is an explosion came out of nowhere, what is the source of it? And if you find a scentific solution explaining the source of the explosion, what is the source of the source of the explosion? It's impossible to explain everything with science.

Actually it's possible to explain everything with science, it's just not probable that humans will be able to. Even so, that's hardly a reason to jump from point A to point Z by saying "God did it." It's a dangerous assumption. Science may be the slow route, but it's safe. It takes us through point B, point C etc., confirming each point before moving on to the next. I'd say we're getting close to D by now.

Also, why ChemicalA + ChemicalB = ReactionC? You can explain what happens, but not why.

Actually, you can. It helps to be a chemist though.

Anyway, I don't mean to say there isn't any place for God in the world or anything like that. I just don't see any place for God in the physical world. Let God rule over the spiritual realm. Some people need Him, let Him be there for them. That's all good. There's nothing wrong with spirituality, it's the Creation myth and Church dogma that I mainly have problems with.

  • Evolution theory is just silly, for me. We aren't monkeys :S

    Nobody said we were.

Also God is much more likely than a explosion that came out of nowhere.

And may I ask why that is?

  • Try Construct 3

  • Sorry it took so long, I couldn't use my Construct computer all day yesterday, so I just whipped this up in the last twenty minutes. It seems pretty solid, but I know it could probably be cleaned up a little (especially the centering-on-ladder code, it's a bit redundant having it occur twice). At the very least it should give you an idea of where to go from here.

The whole thing's commented, but if you have any questions just ask.

But yeah, everyone posting suggestions in this thread were pretty much on the right track, except I used Set Speed in the Y direction instead of manually setting the Y position (that could cause problems with clipping into solids).

  • The thing with the walls disappearing is weird... it's just a tiled background image, not sure why it's doing that :/

That's a problem that's been around for a while now. I first encountered it back when making LHiT (I think I reported it... I can't remember now). I haven't made much with Construct since then, at least not stuff with tiled bg's, so I was just now reminded that the problem even exists.

  • That does indeed look awesome, but it chokes a little on my machine. every second or so it seems to skip frames.

Then again, so does the Plasma object if start to add effects.

  • Just to make a point clear: the "church" and individual faith are to different things. The church isn't necessarily a "good thing" i.e. the crusades and Roman Catholicism enforcing their faith by the sword.

Oh I know, that's why I'm aiming my sights at the Church and not at individuals.

  • Holy mother of god, this looks amazing! I'm in love with your artwork. The visuals on this are excellent.

It also runs pretty smooth, didn't look like it was suffering any slowdown or anything, and it's not like my computer is all that great so I don't think you'll have to worry too much about performance.

There are just a couple of minor crits...

The 8-Dir movement looks a little wonky when turning all the way horizontal just to move up or down, but you did mention you were going to create animations for that, so it's probably a non-issue.

Other than that I found one bug and one mistake:

    Bug:

    <img src="http://i38.tinypic.com/2dbw5dx.jpg">

These tiles are disappearing when scrolling up/down the screen.

    Mistake:

    <img src="http://i33.tinypic.com/t4zg50.jpg">

Your smoke trails are being created on the wrong layer (I guess you fixed the missiles but forgot to do the smoke? )

I dunno, I don't really have much to say about this other than it looks awesome, awesome, awesome. I still think you should go with fullscreen if you're going to make your window so big, but that's a whole other thread (and yeah, since then I hooked my computer up to my HDTV so I can actually see everything).

  • This is a bit of a shot in the dark since I don't know much about particle physics, but I guess it might help with the development of fusion power.

Fusion has already been proved in concept, they just need to design and build a large enough reactor to sustain the reaction. Which coincidentally they currently are (in France, of all places), but it's not going online until 2018.

  • Try specifying which layer you're creating your bullet objects on. That sounds like the problem to me.

    Edit:

Erp, how did I not see your second post?
