  • Yeah! Thanks Ashley! Now I feel more comfortable with the animation editor!

    Kiitos!

  • Awesome work everyone!

SoldjahBoy : Wow! Your Azarayah model is very impressive! That was done in Zbrush? I just learned 3dsMax 9 in school and we've been told about the almighty Zbrush and how powerful it is! Props on the face, that a is VERY difficult body part to do...lol..How does your wife feel about your style of women you do? *noting the nipple hint*

  • Sounds like a great concept, I definately look forward to playing that in the future! I tried out your cap file, the movement is really great, feels very "space like" lol. I will say, just in my opinion, the turning is a bit too slow/resistant, or at least when in movement. Otherwise, awesome work!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Excellent explanation Captain Oblivious! Wow that sure cleared things up! Actually after reading this I can say Construct has a much better system for animation, surely the auto mirror is a great option to have!

Perhaps you should post this in the construct wiki for animation?

Really, I thank you so much, great help!

    they're like collectors items!!! BAHAHA

AH NOT GAMER MAKER!!!! NO WAIIIII!!!!

RPG maker man what a beaver of a program! It takes foooorever to make a game with that! And adding your own animations...pssh forget it! I had the RPG maker for PSone, it was really lame. But hey, welcome toilet hero!

  • Attan, how right you are! I noticed the ability to have layouts link to certain event sheets, what a great feature!

  • To be honest I haven't played around with it enough to figure it out on my own (only because the inability to test run the layout)

I saw a previous post that almost made it seem naming animation's (while being able to) doesn't yet work properly.

Also I was a bit confused about the sub animations and their purpose (for organization reasons?) and how to have left/right directions for animations, do I use a condition to flip the frame or does construct automatically do this?

Say I want standard animations: stopped, walk, jump, fall, attack and duck. Do I need to Make a group for each then have a sub animation for each angle/direction?

  • SoldjahBoy: Thanks for the compliment! And lol...my ram isn't exaclty matched but it's okay (trust me )

Rich: Agh my resolution...not my resolution...!

About the animations in general, I will admit I am a little confused for how these are handled in Construct. I'll have to play around with it and figure it out. I'm getting over Game Factory's animation system lol. The file has the "critical error" message when I try to update and save, so I'll rebuild! Thank you for looking into this problem Mr. Rich!

  • Whatever you do, make sure you have your game planned out before coding! One of the biggest time killers I had in the past was making a game and adding new events in each of the 20+ levels because I wanted a new feature. What a mess! In short:

    1. Plan Game (Engine) on paper

    2. Basic Graphics/Animations needed for engine

    3. Engine!

    chuga chuga chugga gewdd luck!

  • I know Ashley is busy at the moment with exams (I posted a prob myself unaware ) but for a heasd up display your specs and also a .cap file that shows the problem. fileden is a good place to upload if you don't have a place already.

  • Yeah my pc's good to go, actually just built it not too long ago

  • That's great news! I've been unable to run anything made on my PC with construct, yet not other people's .caps!
