  • I followed the forum instructions for making a post.

  • Found the cause! The Greenworks plugin is stopping the game from loading so i removed it.

  • Problem Description

    About 10 times I have exported my currently small game to nwjs and each time when I run the exe for windows the window appears but remains black inside, it does not load.

    • I have checked if it is a visual issue by adding music and audio does not play
    • I have tried exporting two other games the same way and they run fine
    • I changed project proporties and filled in the game details to no avail
    • I have also restarted construct, and restarted my computer- no changes
    • Updated NWJS, nothing.

    I cannot find a shred of help anywhere, is there a known project setting causing this specific game to be unexportable?

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Export game as NWJS
    • Run .exe
    • See if it loads.

    Operating System and Service Pack

    Windows 10 64 bit

    Construct 2 Version ID

    Latest C2 version

  • I know this is an old thread but when you move the anchor quickly in the example capz, it goes nuts, is there a way to stop this? Or does anyone know the cause?

    I am not sure why it is coming up as NWJS, the project name is the game name and is exported with it as it's title.

  • Sounds like resource editor again, there really needs to be an update on this, it is such a basic thing for an engine to do.

  • Right now when you export to NWJS it seems to be an utter pain to change your games taskbar icon from construct 2 to what it rightly should be- your games. I'm not sure if it is designed to work as advertising for C2, but I have paid for a licence.

    It also is a pain to change the name that appears in task manager, i have players complaining they cant end task on my game, and it's because its names NWJS.

    These are huge deciders for me if i stick with the engine, theres a lack of export control- why not add something before export that allows us to upload the icon image if we want to at the very least? Even if this comes in Construct 3 it is definately needed, you cannot have a professional looking game if the taskbar icon is that of the engine you are using, and other engines allow you to change icon easily.

  • This bug has been around for a while (not closing). NW.js staff are probably fixing this already

    Nothing you can do about multiple processes, it's just how it works and there's no problem with it. If the user forces one to close, all of them will close as well

    When you export your game, whatever you name the executable (like game.exe) will be the name of the process. You can change this after exporting
