Huge thanks to Beaverlicious for taking the time to rastarize the PSD files for GIMP users! The problem resulted from GIMP not supporting the latest PSD layer effects and smart objects. Even rastarized the PSD looks great, is cleanly organized, named, and very malleable.

    Thanks again!

  • Free?

If you have tracks you want to sell, I recommend putting them in the scirra store, I've already boughten a handful there. If you got some spacey ambient tracks or battle-y tracks, lemme know.

  • It's definitely C2 (view source). I think the 3d effect is faux (2d objects) but not entirely sure. I do agree, very neat effect! It really doesn't feel 2d at all.

  • Thanks for the answers everyone

So far it seems like crosswalk android and nodewebkit apps are literally just an embedded browser with all of the browser's normal javascript API available. That's pretty awesome. It seems the only limitation is to be careful that your elements are responsive to window size.

Whats the issue with cocoonJS? I read it's being deprecated for C2. Never used it, but the performance on crosswalk is awesome so far.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • The game industry has a history of being hard to get into and over working its employees (at least at the big studios). Game programming is a very "difficult" form of programming that is heavy in math and algorithms. I think it pays well, but I do not think it pays what it is worth. Other lines of programming tend to pay more and give easier workloads (less overtime and crunches). Not a definite rule but definitely a trend.

  • Ethan, can you link to that please and tag me?

  • Path finding in C2 is rough (I'm not a fan of the default behavior) but there are some work arounds. You can use the pathfind behavior on an invisible square to set waypoints, then you can use bullet behavior or move to to tell units to follow the waypoints.

    Just one option of many.

There's a movement template called isobones that might help in the scirra store as well.

  • "I hoped that the controls would be kind of a self explanatory..."

I always assume the end user wants nothing more than to do things as incorrectly as possible and break everything. I call it defensive coding <_< The users can't be trusted.

  • Just rastarizing the layers with effects and smart objects would be great! I can tear the rest apart.

For the longest time Gimp couldn't handle photoshops nested layer folders. Now that gimp 2.8 is out it can't handle smart objects. Can't beat the price though. USUALLY gimp can handle it all though.

I would totally make use of those chemistry graphics thanks!

  • I'm using gimp 2.8

  • So, issue,

The assets in the pack look almost nothing like what is shown in the store.

The PSDs are also hard to work with for trying to change, is there any chance of pngs of individual elements? Can I get the resources from what is shown in the store instead?

  • Pretty cool very angry birds-esque. Could use some extra features like seeing your last shots trajectory. Otherwise the graphics are cute enough to make the blood splats worthwhile.
