  • thanks, I'm not sure if I can make it, but I'll try!

  • Hi there,

There are some parts in my game where my character enter "crouch mode" to cross some tight areas (I'm using the CTRL key), but if I press the CTRL key again, while crouched in these areas, my character will stand up and get stuck forever.

So I'd like to know if there's a simple workaround for this, something like:

If the char is in the tight area AND is in crouching mode, the CTRL key is disabled (so he won't stand up under these conditions)

If this is possible, how do I do it?

Someone please help in simple words cause I'm not good with the programming part of C2!

    Thanks in advance

  • thanks! yeah, I'll have a look on that

  • Greetings

I’d like to use this post to show you guys a Horror game me and my pal have been working on.

We always liked the horror genre, speacilly the Silent Hill releases of old, which were able to create really dense and disturbing environments. There have been lots of horror games lately, however we rarely find a game that actually makes you think about what’s going on and make you invested (dinosaurs zombies aren’t that scary)

With that in mind, we drafted some ideas and started to make some prototypes. In the end, we thought it would be cool if we mixed horror stuff, some platform elements, puzzles and a lot of exploration - kind of an unusual combination.

We are trying to create the same creepiness as mentioned before. A mysterious world where loneliness rules… But we can’t talk about the details for now, cause we don’t want to accidentally reveal some spoiler...

Anyway, as they say, a picture is more worth than words, or something like that, so I should show some in-game shots:

Here is our “hero” in the spotlight. Yes, he’s a child. Don’t expect mercy in this world.

We’re trying to make dark, dirty and claustrophobic places. Objects will have shadow effects in real time, but this wasn’t properly implemented yet.

Yeah, you will be able to push and drag boxes… and yeah, you will use them to press buttons.

Hideous creatures await you, and your little lantern toy can reveal your presence, so being stealthy sometimes is the best option… but combat is also a viable solution.

So, that’s it for now. Sorry for the long post. We look forward for your feedback. We’re doing our best, but surely we can always do better.

    Thanks and see ya!

  • Hey, thanks for the comment

I did use and DO recommend Spriter, though I'm still learning its tricks. I'll have a look on the menu, thanks for the tip.

And yeah, the idea os Doodle Rider is to make people suffer ^^

...oh wait, not really, buy it was supposed to be hard.

    More feedback would be appreciated!

By the way, does anyone know other ways to promote a game? That would be appreciated as well!

  • Salutations, guys!

I’d like to use this post to show the two games we made using Construct 2.

The first is called Subject 000, a game where you need to jump, run, crouch, bathe in Vaseline and dodge bullets, sharp objects, missiles and other unspeakable dangers that lurk about, for as long as you can. (here’s the cover:)

    Link is http://www.kongregate.com/games/thewilypig/subject-000

The second one is Doodle Rider, a game where you need to draw the road in order to take your little car through the city sky, dodging the evil walls that stand in your way. (cover below)

    Link is http://www.kongregate.com/games/thewilypig/doodle-rider

We also have another, bigger game on the way, which you can check on our blog:

Sooo, Could you guys have a look, spread the word and help us with opinions, programming tips and suggestions on how to make better stuff?

    Thanks, see ya

  • Hi there,

does anyone know if it's possible to change the Z position of only some parts of a Spriter animation? Not the entire animation

Ex: I want to make one arm and one leg of my character appear in front of a vertical ladder, and the other arm and leg behind the ladder

    thanks in advance

  • Hi,

So I kind of made a mess with my saving system and I'd like to know where the save files from Construct are in my PC. Anyone knows?

    thanks

  • sorry I didn't answer before... I've been away for some time

Anyway, this DID work, thanks =D

  • This cap requires the 188 version and I have only the 184.. Am I missing something?

  • Hi,

I've already tried many solutions from the forum, but none of them worked. I basically want to use an xbox controller to move my char and to emulate the mouse control (for aiming purposes), but found some issues:

    • it "kinda" works with firefox and in the debug mode, but doesn't work with Node webkit
    • the mouse movement isn't very precise (i can't seem to move vertically and horizontally)
    • The character simple won't Move

I tried to tinker with the following example.. (the blue character was supposed to move with the left stick, and the red square with the right stick)... Yeah, its messed up

If someone could have a look on it I'd be grateful =]
