Great! Thanks, Ashley
Your choice of silhouette-style is a good one, and you have a very nice monster to motivate the player! However, I did have a bit of difficulty with the wall-jumping. I couldn't seem to use it reliably enough to escape the monster's clutches!
MAAAAH! How the heck do you guys make such polished graphics??? I can only manage these stupid pixel art things.
No shame in that; pixel art can have a lot of personality! Start out with what you're comfortable with, code a good game, and then polish up the graphical elements after!
Only a walk animation? If I'm paying for a collection of images, I want the most bang for my buck, daggummit! Where's a jump, crouch, idle, climb, or roll animation?
Also, i just read the rules...why are the first 2 banners in the contest? I'm talking about this rule: [quote:1abxa8zj]It must be an advertisement soliciting the participation and contribution of programmers writing actual source code.

I thought the same, but I figured the admins would okay the banner if they thought it permissible.
CATabalt?
Very amusing, and quite fun. I liked the alternating weather/skyline changes. . . nice touch!

Gah i wish Bespectacled's was a bit more clear. Its nice though!
I started on a slightly larger canvas than the required 220x220. Image scaling is wonderful

I apologize for (the overuse of?) the 'Birth of a Hero' font. It just looked cool, hahaha

Well, I just had to ask--I saw your other recent post . Congrats, man! Looks like you're living the dream!
Were you hired by DXGames, by any chance?
I own a copy of this, and when multiplayer alpha has enemy mobs, some friends and I are going to have a LAN dedicated to it. :p
I'm really excited about the online multiplayer prospects as well. All I can envision is Lord of the Flies, hahah
Tried it.
Addicted.
A very charming first release from MiniBoss! I had some fun jumping around and laying waste to the undead in my path
User Minor has a lot of good tips if you're planning on exploring the game further. Although, from the looks of your blog it seems you're busy with another project.
Looking great, Alee. I let out a quiet "ooooh" when I came upon my first planet. Very cool, and keep the ambition alive!
