  • In what way do you mean limited?

If you are a coder, then the SDK will allow you to extend or streamline some functionality, but as far as I'm concerned, the main limiting factor is the ability of the user.

  • It's a bank holiday. Give it until tomorrow.

  • I think korbaach is implying that the reason your pc is slowing down is it is creating something constantly - a cascade - and the trigger once will stop that. You can see if this is the case using the debugger.

Alternatively, post either your .capx or screenshots of your events. That way, you'll get direct help rather than just guesswork.

  • The file you have uploaded is totally empty, i.e. every byte is zero. It's not even corrupt - it's just nothing.

Hopefully, you will have setup the sutomatic save and backup features, otherwise you have just had a very painful lesson, unfortunately.

  • C3 has only just started to be developed, so the chances of it appearing soon are remote.

Ashley has already stated that an upgrade option will be vailable.

  • It is with very great sadness that I must report the passing away of a stalwart from the Amiga days. His Deluxe Galaga game on both the Amiga and PC made me lose hundreds of hours.

    A very sad day.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Just to clarify - the error doesn't appear when previewing, for instance, one of the built-in examples, but only when previewing your own bomberman .capx?

Are you using any non-standard plugins?

If not, then the .capx will be necessary probably.

Unfortunately, the forum attachments are currently disabled due to them being foobar'd :/

Do you have a Dropbox account you could use? Or googledrive, etc....?

Is this error when you are previewing within C2 or is it after exporting?

If after exporting, how are you testing, i.e. are you hosting it on an external server or your own server?

Remember, due to browser security restrictions, HTML5 games are not designed to run locally.

  • Forum uploads have been disabled for now until a nasty bug can be eliminated.

  • It can take up to 2 or 3 weeks for Ashley to investigate any posted bugs, so bumping your post isn't necessary.

Also, adding a space between every character of a posted url is also not necessary, and is quite annoying.

Also works fine in both firefox and I.E. for me. NW has an issue.

  • You must realize that the problem most likely lies with your computer, otherwise there would be thousands of post regarding this issue.

What have you installed recently? Are there any error messages? Have you tried disabling all browser addons? Is it the same for every C2 project, even the built-in examples?

Have you tried the tutorial re: troubleshooting the preview browser here:

    Specifically:

    [quote:1zdnpego]Snapshot canvas

Take a screenshot of the current display. This triggers On canvas snapshot when the snapshot is ready, and the resulting image can be accessed with the CanvasSnapshot system expression. This can then be loaded in to a sprite or tiled background, sent to a server, or opened with the Browser object in a new tab.

  • Yeah, it's really weird that Scirra has written literally 0 documentation on effects. I guess it's not really high on the priority list.

It is a little bizzare, considering the number of (unfulfilled) requests for effects in the "What shader effects do you want? " thread.

If the documentation was better, many more would at least make the attempt at creating effects, to the benefit of everyone.

  • Surely, this would also be better off in the SDK section of the manual ? (@Ashley).

Fantastic info as usual, R0J0. Much appreciated.
