  • If I remember correctly, somewhere on the forum is an example by R0J0hound, which is very similar to what you are showing..

    Try the search..

    found it

    REALLY COOL hehe

that's the kind of stuff I want, but.. it still very simple visually. There is no way to put an effect like this in a game. Probably c2 doesn't have the option to distort sprites, right? or something like this..

  • there is a way in c2 to simulate water movement dynamically? What I need is exactly the mechanic in this video:

    Subscribe to Construct videos now

    THANKS!

ps: i'm not talking about a fluid simulation. Just the movement of the water 'line'. But dynamic as in the video, not a pre rendered animation or sine stuff.

  • That's exactly what I think.

Ashley, please.. don't let Construct die. Improve it.

I really want to believe that the reason of this update delays is C3 or whatever great things coming.

1 - "After quite a long wait, NW.js 0.13.0-alpha5 is now based on Chromium 46, which is quite a leap and brings all the latest web platform feature support, improved performance, and many bug fixes including at last resolving the infamous "janky vsync" bug that Chrome 38 introduced."

2 - "We're also looking in to updating Greenworks for NW.js 0.13+ for Steam integration, and if it works well enough, we'll start shipping it in the editor itself instead of distributing it in the forum as an "experimental" plugin."

Thats wonderful... THANK YOU VERY MUCH ASHLEY!

  • I love C2. I loved it since the day I bought it. It is, hands down, the BEST game making tool I have ever laid my hands on. But I believe there is a whole lot of room for improvement. I understand that the devs are already busy working on Construct 3. Some of Construct 2's improvements can be solved (and can also be carried over to Construct 3) by answering these two simple questions:

    - Do we (Scirra developers) have enough people/staff to maintain and update the product?

    - Do we have a good business model to support the growth/expansion of the company and improvement of the product/s?

IMO, paying just once for a GREAT product like Construct 2 sounds like a missed opportunity. I would gladly pay a yearly subscription fee (at a reasonable price) if that meant the product would get the best support it needs, the best updates to its features, and the best product overall.

I also hope that the next iteration of Construct doesn't depend solely on wrappers. Wrappers almost ensure that exports to other platforms will always be at an 'almost native' performance, and will never be at a native performance level. Wrappers also add another layer of technicality, most of which aren't even in the hands of Scirra. These things are what's holding C2 back and it's so disappointing. Again, just my opinion.

So please devs, don't hold your own product/s back. I do hope Construct 3 is leagues beyond Construct 2.

    That's exactly what I think.

  • No. If you do not have any collision or overlap events then C2 does not calculate them at all.

    Ok, Thank you!

  • Does disabling collisions of an object that don't need it increases performance?

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hehe thanks, is working fine now

  • I have a static level and a circle that appears randomly on screen. But I want that the level just be visible on that circle... I think is like a mask effect. How can I achieve this?

    Thanks.

  • Well, with this new construct and NW.js release, it still happening to me...

I think it's on Node, cause with the 0.10.5 I have no problems.

  • It's still happening for me with the newest version of NW.JS.

Yeah, the same here... and with this 0.12.0 I'm having an 'overall' jerkiness again.

  • atomoso

  • I'm using NW to export my game and it have a button that opens a link to a site.

But using the Browser object to open a link, it opens just a new NW window with the site...

There is a way to open directly the web browser?
