  event 2 and 3 you have an action to set the angle of the left arm while jumping and falling but not one for the right arm.

  i've made an example for you, it works quite well i think, fires according to the player angle - reminds me of the wookie gun from battlefront 2 :3

  maybe a combination of animation and making the legs separate sprites attached to the body so they can move independantly and rotate toward the sub?

  i have solved it using UID's and families, sticking the platform creation under one event and adding two events with a "checker" variable to set to 1 or 0 depending on what is touching the sensor. woohoo!

  that's what i meant by my example, your pathfinding *should* be working but there's something odd going on with the level building plus the pathfinding.

  hello again!

  i've been struggling to fix this over the past few days:

  what i want to happen:

  • spawn 1 ground piece,
  • spawn 1 gap piece,
  • repeat

  • i will eventually expand this to spawn ground pieces and gap pieces of set sizes but randomly so i have been using a spawn sensor to detect when they no longer overlap to spawn the next one. so when the ground piece no longer overlaps the sensor, spawn a gap, when the gap piece no longer overlaps the sensor spawn a ground piece.

  would using a family solve this? (my thought is "pick all family" "family is not overlapping sensor"

  or is there a better way to generate terrain, randomly but in sequence like this?

  sidenote: i will be buying a license eventually, i just wanted to wait until i had a game closer to completion but if families can solve this i would consider buying one now.

  superwifibattler - there's something odd happening with the code, i'm not sure what it is. perhaps something with toggling the groups to active or deactive?

  simple pathfinding works with a solid behaviour for the wall piece and adding in the action "regenerate obstacle map" when the mouse is clicked to create a new path.

  Rory - this is the closest i've gotten, adding in margins which are set based on the speed of the game.

  if you are using the 8 direction behaviour you can set, on the left side, from 8 directions to 4.

  • event 9 you have "set animation to "running" " - there is no "running" animation, change to "walking"

  also change 9 and add another event as follows:

  my dream game is a survival horror RPG game where you could either stay and build up your stronghold or choose to roam from place to place trying to survive and searching for other survivors. Each would have their benefits and at any time you could choose to start making a new stronghold or leave your stronghold to roam.

  The player would have to manage different things other than just staying alive, hunger, boredom, loneliness, they could get sick and die type of thing. The more the player would do one thing the better they would get at it, say constructing barricades or scavenging for supplies.

  The game would have night and day cycles, there would be randomly spawned items and you could "craft" new items or make things that would have greater benefits.

  And zombies of course.
