  • Hey nice game,

I really like the music games.

Ok, here comes all the negative comments. I'm being the devils advocate, i enjoyed the game thoroughly.

Its huge, 57mb just to download the demo... You might want to change the wavs to mp3's.

Originally I didn't like the sound it makes on the keypress.

I does grow on you, so i don't mind it now, however very first thought was that's a bit strange.

Once i got past the introduction into the actual levels i found it a bit uneasy with the rapid changes between computer and player. Very hectic, to the stage where after one mistake, i felt unsure if the level was worth continuing because of points lost, time spent facepalming etc.

Also i felt there should be some signal to show what keypress should be pressed or has been missed like in the introduction.

And the s key is quite far away from the others for the middle circle.

I guessed its meant for a different hand.

The overall game is great, has a really friendly feel to it, colourfull graphics remind me of a Nintendo DS games. Good luck in the future with the continuation of its development.

  • I'm upset that it wont be free anymore.

That was the main drawcard i thought.

I don't like to pay for anything.

The application being free is greatly responsible for its popularity.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hey nice game. Very Unique. I haven't played anything quite like it before.

A few things i found while playing that i would have liked to be different...

Sometime when i fall down outside the screen i don't die, so i have to quit the game to restart. The long intro screen doesn't help this problem either.

The player movement has a certain uncontrollable feel to it. Slow acceleration and changing direction compared to the fast pace of the rest of the game.

Also very occasionally the level just seems to restart itself for no reason, I'm not sure if i was taking to long but there did not seem to be a reason or any signal.

Apart from that i really liked it a lot and even when i was stuck off screen i found myself restating the game and waiting to play again so its definitely thumbs up from me.

  • Yep I am not good with character sprites and movement.

I can draw a wall or a door etc but hopeless at characters.

Tablet i am definitely thinking about. I can see how incredibly handy it would be in my current situation.

Funnily enough i was looking at anime studio the other day for a different reason but i never realized it had such potential for this type of task.

Anyway atm im using coloured squares etc as the sprites while i create basic game play.

Seems to be more productive because im wasting no time on creation.

Thanks again for the feedback, looks like i might need to spend a bit of money in the future.

If only every thing was free like construct.

  • My attempt at C2 logo...

  • Hey thanks everyone for the replies.

Lots of good ideas for me to think about. Bone movement, collaborating, top down, practice, hard work. That truth hurts Davioware.

Its hard to practice something when you only care about the finished product and not the process.

I do have trouble with the drawing. Even though i have ideas and enough knowledge of the applications i just cant draw. Especially trying to achieve stuff like a realistic 8bit look.

Tablet could help but my desk is so crowded already. I have always wanted one too. I know a few people who have them as paperweights, which is a bit off putting.

    Night

I don't know much about construct as i haven't used it for a while and forget apps quite quickly.

Thinking about making a Super Smash TV clone, its much like the Ghost hunter tut style of game.

I understand what you mean by 'the other guy dumping it' Its hard because the more people involved less creative freedom. Less people is bigger chance of fail.

My games seem to have a healthy percentage of fail already.

    Cheers everyone.

  • I'm not good with original sprites.

I avoid making games which involve sprites that have detailed frames for movement or actions.

Do many people feel the same?

I would like to know how other people have gotten past this hurdle.

  • Hey Great!

Glad it worked, I was pretty disappointed when it failed for the person it was made for.

  • Hey im new to the forum.

I made this game a while ago. It was for a friend who enjoyed the original game.

It turned out fairly buggy. Seemed to work a lot slower on his PC.

Still works alright on mine anyways. Hope someone enjoys it.

    EXE File > http://www.box.net/shared/un99osler2 > 10.5MB

    Keys:

    Arrow keys: Menu and Skate

    Space: Name and Jump

Enter: Go to next screen etc.

To get power for the jump left and right arrow keys must be tapped not to slow, not to fast, just right.

I wont be working on it anymore. Thinking about starting a something different or helping with others.

Sometimes i find it hard to get motivated.
