  • to be honest, i don't know all of the functions available in construct so just play around with the events, conditions, and actions and if you find that something could be accomplished more efficiently, please, let everyone know!

  • heh, no problem. i want to know if there is anything i could improve on though, like putting in more or less detail in the explanations, what i should focus on more, etc.

  • oh, that can be changed by altering the value used for the "runTimer" from 10 to a larger number for a longer input period

  • err ... why do you get scary feelings about forum members being malicious? :S

  • it's may not be much but it will help those who don't know how to achieve this.

It's also documented and all that jazz.

    edit:

Vrav's version using sub events as well as eliminating the use of detectors for collision detection. it may seem trivial but when games become larger eliminating certain things can provide you with the virtual resources you require!

  • errr, the game you are recalling is micro machines which i also think is awesome but that game and this one are not the same thing

  • I don't enjoy having to draw figures every single time I have cool ideas for clothing so I have made templates for myself to make the process easier.

Here are the template figures. They became slanted from the scanning process, gotta fix that. Question: how do I scale these images with bbcode?

no, i wasn't scared by the game itself but my current project has the same basic idea and the thought of others thinking that i'd copied this game scared me. however, my ideas for gameplay are significantly different so that's a big relief but as it stands, the principal ideas are the same which still scares me a bit!

i'm not really going to divulge my game concept at the moment but the game that the above link will take you to will provide you with a good idea of what could be expected. i will look for assistance at a later time when the design documentation begins to reach completion.

  • that's some effin awesome use of 3d boxes! the bounce is really annoying though, mostly because it's unrealistic, other than that, the level is awesome to look at!

  • that screenshot looks effin' awesome!

  • errr ... no, just use the percent sign: %

    addtion: +

    subtraction: -

    multiplication: *

    division: /

modulation: % (i don't know if this is the correct term lol)

    exponent: ^

p.s. i see your other files

  • i guess what i want is the possibility of a properties tab/window for families

what about creating events for families even though sprites have yet to be added? it'd be nice to go straight into creating general events that can be applied en masse without first having to create placeholder sprites.

the ability to choose whether to reference an external image file or to create within construct during the creation of a sprite would be extremely useful as well

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • how about allowing events involving families to be created without the requirement of actual sprites? maybe even give families private variables. that would make it more modularized and allow families to act similarly to base classes.

  • red? lol

  • no ... i'm logged in and it shows http://www.scirra.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=565 for me.

i've actually never had problems with the boards, i keep myself logged in and the only time that i had to log back in was when i cleared my cookies but that doesn't affect me anymore because i've set my ccleaner to keep the cookies for this website so i'm forever logged in!
