  • Take the one you believe you can finish. It will teach you a lot that you can use when working on the innovative project afterwards.

  • I'd agree in comparing your projects and taking the one most likely to be completed. Be it because of assets required, size of the project, personal passion on the subject, so on.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Would it help to just put it the other way around?

    If VARIABLE = 1,

On 1 pressed, set VARIABLE to 2

    If VARIABLE = 0,

On 1 pressed, set VARIABLE to 1

So it would check if it was 1 before setting the variable?

  • Ah I see, thanks!

  • Trying to download "Plugin: HexTx" gives me a 404.

  • The example capx's just seem to open a page of garbled text for me?

Apart from that, this seems to be just what I needed! I'll go try it out right away.

  • Finally figured it out Thanks!

  • I think he's hoping for a way to lock a layer from input in runtime.

While this can be done with variable checks or groups, it would be really nice and much simpler to have a lock feature that works in-game too... *wishful thinking*

  • oh hell yeah, man

I work at the post office. it's so friggin mindless and stupid

I can't wait to finally finish something awesome enough to escape that hellhole

Exactly how I feel. Except I don't work at the post office Just a normal office job at our tiny city hall.

    *cough*

  • but 360 and ps3 are so outdated and old now that its not even fun anymore....

    Really? :S

    *Pats my lovely ps3*

I guess I'm just not enough of a technophile to notice (not meant in a bad way, I'm just not that knowledgable about it).

I hope the current consoles last a little longer... now that they have built up a good library of games.

  • I was thinking, now that objects have lovely folders (thank you!), could it be possible to arrange global variables in folders as well? I'm ending up with a lot of them, and sometimes it would be nice to group them together according to what I use them for. (Menu's, stats, so on...)

I know private variables can be used for this to a degree, but wouldn't global variable folders still be a nice feature?

  • I tried doing the same as you, just without having to click a button first, but I still can't make it work >_< man, I feel dumb now...

    Here it is so far:

Never would have thought something like ordering after values would have been so difficult for me!

  • Phew, suddenly got very busy, and this seemed like something I needed to get the proper time to look at.

Listbox doesn't seem very customizable when it comes to presentation, so that's why I haven't used it yet.

But while the Verve example in general looks great and has lots of descriptions, I'm afraid it's still going over my head! I just can't figure it out.

Also, my rankings list only needs to show the top 10. In your Verve code, you mentioned a simpler way of sorting values, could you maybe explain that one...?

Sorry and thanks for your help so far

    EDIT:

Here is my lame attempt so far, based on an example from a memory game I found on these forums:
