  • Hello again Anthony! Thank you for your comments, I enjoy the feedback that you have given :) Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you with your game, the contest finished and then I moved interstate for the Easter Break. I promise I'll get to your game soon (within the next week) and give you some proper feedback. I'm still looking forward to properly playing it! :)

    Cheers!

  • Thanks GenkiGenga!

I'm really glad that you enjoyed it, including the challenge that it imposed! :) I have received a few comments that the game was a little difficult for some, so I'll have to find a way to slowly increase the difficulty from something easier, but I hope to work it in, in a way so that the game does continue to feel more rewarding as it is played while retaining its complexity. I'm glad you do like the level of complexity, as I quite like it too :)

    Thanks for the feedback! :D

  • Hi guys!

Recently I finished making a musical rhythm shooter game called Music Fighter for the HBGames.org Construct 2 competition, and I'd like to invite people to have a look.

  • Hi there,

There seems to be a bug in r80 in that when I set the array width to 30, it's fine for a while until I save and close my project. When I reopen it again, the array width reverts to 10. Could this be fixed? Right now I just use events to set the size each time, which does work, but thought I should let you guys know. :)

    Cheers!

  • SoldjahBoy Oooh is that so. Well as long as the rep is the right amount I don't have too much to complain about :) I'm sure Tom is working hard on plenty of things with the site.

GenkiGenga LOL I really did XD The temptation was way too strong T_T Just like that ren and stimpy episode ^^; I think I'm going to not touch it again...

  • Okay it's probably silly of me to have done so, but I clicked the recount rep button again and this time I dropped from 820 rep to 574. Can someone check and see why this is happening?

    Thanks!

  • JohnnySix I ended up using your controls after all. They were much more intuitive than my suggestion after trying them both!

  • Hey look at that! New levels. Lookin good! :)

  • Hey thats a cool game you got there using the planetcute set. I've always wanted to make an RPG with it myself. I havent had a chance to play it yet cos im looking at this on the phone, but im definately gonna have a go when i can. cool stuff this! :)

  • Thanks for the constructive comments guys!

JohnnySix I didn't realize it was such an issue before, but I think you're right about the controls! I get a little confused myself, and watching one of my friends, she was really confused too. I'm not sure about making the up button for the collector because using the up button makes it that much harder to quickly move left or right. I think the controls I will go with is [x] for normal shot (this button can just be held down with the middle finger), [c] for star collector (it's more frequently used so place it where the index finger will go), and [z] for the scatter shot (less frequently used, and so can be pressed by the ring finger). I'm glad you like the choice of music :)

GenkiGenga Thanks for your nice comments! :) You're right about the instructions though. I'll see how I can work it in to the game :)

I'm definitely taking all this feedback in to account when I make my game for the HBGames + Construct 2 contest! :) Thanks!

  • Hi guys, if you haven't noticed yet, the rotary competition results are in!

Congratulations to Sqiddster on winning first place with AirScape, 0plus1 on winning second place with actRact Lite, and DownInBlack on winning third place for GRAV SUIT! I played them all and they were all great games! Also grats to Jailson for winning the users' choice trophy!

But one thing that's left... who won fourth prize I wonder? XD

  • Eek! Hmm thats a problem huh? Maybe you can reinstall the free version while working on the competition? But I know thats hard. Also, I wonder how the guys at HBGames will enforce the rule... :O

  • me wonders, how I can tell when I reached the limitations of the "free c2 license"?!?

As I understood, this is one of the competition requests...

Well, if you use the free version a pop up will come up if you try to do something out of the free version's limits. eg once you create your 101st event, you can create no more!

  • Haha thanks! I hope the final result to be a feast for not only the ears, but the eyes as well! :D
