  • There's a C2 plugin called Q3D that allows you to import models

  • hazneliel Is this Behavior still being updated? It's very useful and would be great to get it working perfectly. I've hit a few bugs like setting the Repeat Count in an event sheet gives an error at runtime. Also, I seem to be unable to set the rate of spawn through events too.

  • Ashley Yeah I get that. But I was under the impression that you would only get a tinge if sampling was set to linear. And I guess I shouldn't say a big waste of texture space, just inefficient. If i have a 16x16 sprite I can only use 14x14 which is relatively a big waste. 4 pixels is a lot of detail lost in a pixel art game.

  • Ashley is there any reason the pixel border is applied to pixel art games? It seems like this should be turned off if a project is set to point sampling. For pixel games, this seems like a big waste of texture space.

  • Smileh I probably won't have a demo for awhile. Between work and family, (had a second child born in Feb) I haven't had much time to put into the project. I started it about a year ago, but I can only put in about 5-10 hours a week at best.

I gave a brief overview of how I did the climbing on page 2. Again, sorry I can't do a proper tutorial because of limited free time. Hope that helps.

  • That worked. I didn't notice there was a "Custom" setting. Thanks!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that action but I don't think it's what I'm looking for. Point to object seems to adjust the width until it hits one object. I would like to add multiple objects and also only scale the width to maximum 700 pixels.

Here is a capx to demonstrate what I mean. Is there a way to have the laser sprite hit the Enemy sprites too without making them solid?

  • Thanks for this plugin! I was wondering if there was a way to include objects that don't have the solid behavior? I would like to use this as sort of an instant bullet but I don't want enemies to be solid.

  • Hey I'm really digging this! Your animations are spot on.

Quick question: how do you create your gifs?

Sorry I missed this question. If you're still looking for help making gifs, I usually use GifCam

Definitely stay with this style. Pixel art is fantastic and all. I mean I grew up playing with games in such a style. But it's such a lazy way to go. We have the technology to create some remarkable styles. I like what you've got here so keep at it

Thanks. That post is like 6 years old though. Also, Pixel art isn't lazy, its a style choice. My current project is pixel art and it takes a lot of effort to create the sprites.

  • Hehe, this must be why my art is so crap, I only draw with a mouse!

I tried wacom tablet but can't get used to it.

Took me a few days to get used to the tablet but it was worth it. You could try a Cintiq but those are pretty expensive.

Star Nomad is looking pretty good BTW.

  • Posted this on twitter yesterday. Updated forest environment:

  • Construct just got burned.

Not really. CC was very buggy. C2 is pretty stable and with my game I haven't encountered a single bug in months. Also, of course CC couldn't compare to Unity, it was an engine developed by a few students\first time engine developers in their spare time.

  • Read this article and was surprised to see they mentioned beginning development of Ori and the Blind Forest on Construct. Interesting article.
