you have a space between the codes, check your lines in signature see if the codes are breaking like the new pasted one is starting under instead of near the old one, that wold be a space that is creating by the "newline" or

this is something i write without space right? -> [url][img][/img][/url]
this is something i write with space by pressing enter or copy pasting and bbcode automatically ads a space

[url][img][/img][/url][url][img][/img][/url] <- this is how they should look ? see signature
    [/code:12esyqc3]

    Awesome! Thank you so much!

  • TRMG why dont you add the youtube channel in your signature instead? its not as useful as the profile one where people sees where you at directly... but still helps. Also you could place a youtube link to your website also? if someone comes to your profile they wold probably click on your website at first sight then searching the youtube link. just saying there are other ways of viewing this problem. but i totally get the need of youtube link working in profile page.

    Hey,

Sorry to bother you again, but do you know how can I put two photos with links side by side?

(I get this result if I only put the first code side by side with the second \/ )

  • I think you are not particularly doing something wrong, I just think C2 does not register yet the overllap, after muliple attempts that is the conclusion I am coming to.

I used another method, using the might of overllaping at offset, hope it works fine for your purpose: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjkoCSebIn9JjCEO0d_UMx6pohZh

I don't understand, you don't want the character to be able to move if the top half is next to a wall, is that right?

So you shouldn't say "if top half is overlapping ground -> move left", you should say "if top half isn't overlapping ground on the left -> move left".

In this case you should use "is overlapping at offset".

You're also checking and moving for both bottom and top half. You're basically saying "if bottom part is overlapping ground and player presses left -> move left -> then check if the top half part is also overlapping ground -> move left again".

If you're trying to make it so the both parts can only move when there's no ground on where they are trying to move, you should do this:

Thank you very much for the help, guys!

I did not know that overlap at offset was a thing =D

I was first moving the player and then checking to see if he was overlapping with the ground (and if he was, I would move him back)

  • Hi, what is the reason why the condition is false if I compare the name of the animation but it is true if I use "pin is pinned" ?.

    I do not understand

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60803633/testEstrellas.capx

I have no idea why that does not work, but if you want to pick the star by it's animation, this should work:

star - Is playing animation "Default2" => [action]

  • Hey, I have a character made of 2 150px by 150px sprites and I want to move him on a grid, so I tried this:

Basically, when I push "A" or Left Arrow, I move the bottom half 150px to the left (And since the top half will be pinned to the bottom half - 150px in the Y direction, it will move the top one too)

Then I check if the bottom half is overlapping the sprite "Ground" (So it would not go trough it) and if it is, I would add 150px to the bottom half, moving it back to it's place.

The problem comes when I apply the same code to the top half, but this time it does not work...

I also tried: If Bottom Half is overlapping Ground|

    or | => then Bottom Half set X to self.X + 150px

If Top Half is overlapping Ground |

    But this didn't work either...

    What am I doing wrong?

    Yes. It must be.

Alright then, thanks for the help and sorry that I got a little mad =D

Thanks for the suggestion and the code needed!

It's for indie developers that already have gained reputation on their games here in scirra. They have about hundreds to thousands of subscribers.

So it's their way of having a quality check?

  • No. It's not a bug. It's not that scirra doesn't allow you, it's youtube not allowing you.

It's not Scirra's fault that you need 100 subs for a custom url, but why require a custom url in the first place?

No there isn't any button like that and there isn't also enough storage servers for youtube accounts that have no viewers.

Well for 3 files <1GB which have generated 1700 views, that's a big number of views for such a small number of gb.

And I don't have an account with +100 private videos to say that I'm taking advantage of YT...

Also, the button thing was to highlight the fact that I don't have any control over how many subs I have. It isn't like trailer channels get subbed to like crazy either.

I forgot the specific requirements but i think it has something to do with your channel's lacking of subscribers.

Add more viewers and subscribers on your channel and by that you can make your own custom url and be able to link it to scirra.

But I can't really "ad" more subs to my channel... There isn't a button called "Ad 10 subs"

Should I re-post it in the bug section?

  • Tom Ashely Soo... The reason I know about this is because I've done it... And because I'm a selfish bastard I've not reported it.

One night I was editing my Scirra page and refreshing it to see how it looked, when I see I apparently visited the site ~400 days in a row and every time I would refresh the page it would ad 2 days. I then took adva- I mean tested to see if it would work again a couple hundred times. (Look, I already said I'm a selfish bastard, ok? Let's move on)

I got five gold badges and then I got tired and went to sleep. The next day this bug stopped working and I was too scared that my account would be banned to report it. Aand because I did not want to lose the badges... (yeah...)

I think the reason why this bug happened for one night is because the Daylight Saving Time had just started for UK (Where I believe you guys are situated) but didn't start for Romania (Where I live) for two more hours (Links: UK: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/uk/london Ro: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change ... /bucharest) and it would trick somehow the server to ad 2 days.

So I guess it would happen again on the 30th of October, but this time for countries west of the UK.

Also, I'm ok with you guys removing my 5 gold badges that I cheated for.

Good luck with fixing this bug!

  • So, I tried to link my YT channel to my page, but the URL seems to be wrong... My channel's url is youtube.com/channel/UC7H7uqogMSPhSqjMsN9Vw2g

but when I go trough my pages' (side note; is " pages' " correct?) yt link, the url is: ________________ youtube.com/user/UC7H7uqogMSPhSqjMsN9Vw2g

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Ashley has written several blogs on exporting to Raspberry Pi.

    Great, thanks.

  • Probably not, unless it can run a browser engine (which looks pretty unlikely).

    Ok then, thanks.

Just buy one with a raspberry pi then you should be able to

Can you export to a raspberry pi? (I never used it before)

  • Doubt it. Tiny arcade is arduino operated, so a c/c++ language.

    construct is html5 based.

The most I think you could do is remote control a html5 game where the arduino connects to a server to send controller commands and stuff.

I dont follow arduino much though. Try searching around if you can run html5 on an arduino or play html5 games or something.

long story short, you probably have to do a lot of code yourself for the arduino to make it happen.

    Bummer...

It also does not come with a wifi module and it's another 60$ on top...

Ashley , is there a way I could do this?

  • So, I'm nerding over this tiny arcade (Link: https://tinycircuits.com/collections/ki ... 7794324295)

I think it would be very cool to make some interesting games on it and see how the devs of AAA games on systems orders of magnitude slower than what we have today were thinking when developing them.

On their site, they provide a .zip file with some games. Each game has one .bin file and one .tsv file.

So, my question is, can I export with C2 a game for this system?
