    Thank you guys for sticking up for me,I know I might not be the best at explaining things but for him to go all mad on me kinda made me feel dumb.

    I know that im not the smartest when it comes to using construct yet but im trying.

    I already know how to use arrays in a basic way I just dont understand how to make them scroll up and down within the inventory.

    I have a question about inventory's. I am trying to create a scrollable set of slots on my inventory layer pinned to my custom menu.How would i attach such a thing?

    I basically want the player to have a scrolling slot list for the inventory that will be hidden along with my inventory menu.could someone help me?

  • ok,I wanted to ask a few things about animations,I have a player sprite that is similar to Terrarias Main Character, its divided into 4 seperate parts so i can have/keep animations running at the same time.for instance I can have a walk animation run along with my sword swing animation. I wanted to know how I can make my sword swing animation not reset everytime I change positions. For instance, when I start swinging my sword while my player is idle and jump while my player is swinging I want that animation to continue instead of resetting itself.

    Is it possible to do?

    Im trying to create some lighting effects that have some realistic value. For instance I want to have solids block light, is that possible in construct 2?

    Im trying to create a night time scenario where the lighting is realistic.

    similar to some other sandbox games,I have exhausted many of ideas and when it comes to actually seeing a cap X there are few around that actually use any lighting similar for a realistic style game.

    The last resort Is to place black sprites in an array and change the opacity in comparison to the players position.im just not to sure on how to check around the player efficiently.

    One thing your capX dosnt show is how to make the upper most cells the same value all while keeping the rest at random.

    I know that round (random (0,4)) will mix things up but how will I dictate that my top cells all stay the same value?

    Could I say an empty cell is 0 and if its true that the cell is 0 I could switch frames accordingly?

    Thank you so much for showing me what you ment!! You actually shown me a few things I did not know along with my main issue.

    I know you might have told me in an earlier post but I am more of a visual learner. Most teachers have a chalkboard, in our case its a CapX file.thank you once again for your helping hand.

    On Start of layout

            For each XY set value at (array.curX,array.curY) to floor (1)

            Create object tiles on layer 0 at (array.curx.array.cury)

            TileArray.CurY > 5

    Or can I run this through the whole array?

    It would be awesome to see a visual representation of this but nonetheless I still would love to learn from you.

    I never used array.at before.Im just getting used to arrays in general

  • mindfaQ so this would work if I was trying to make my tiles change?

    For example Im trying to make my dirt block turn into a grass covered dirt block but only if the cell above it is free.

    Thats why I wanted to know.
