  • Is there a way to turn of the blurriness of sprite objects when zoomed in? I find it hard to position objects with pixel precision when the objects are blurry. If I remember correctly, in older versions of C2, sprite objects never became blurry when I zoomed in.

  • That looks like that did it! I don't think it needs any tweaking though.

    Thanks so much.

    Also, why do i need to set the instance vars to -45678? Is that specific kind of value or something?

  • Ah that makes sense. But how do i tell it to destroy the corresponding exhaust? You can't give a parameter to a destroy action, right? Like: Destroy(RocketExhaust(Rocket.Index)) or whatever.

    I have this in my 'On C pressed' event:

    Rocket -> Set Shot Rocket.Count

    RocketExhaust -> Set Shot RocketExhaust.Count

    Where Shot is the instance var name for both the Rocket and RocketExhaust.

    Is that correct up to this point?

  • 3DGS, my project is not of the single file type.

    I'm having trouble getting a clear picture of your post, Newt, sorry. 'smoke' is the exhaust?

    And what is 'shot'? Is that the instance variable name or is 'smoke' the variable name?

    'On creation' you mean 'System -> Create Object?'

    Edit:

    Tried really hard to understand your post, but i can't. Could you make your post again but make it more organized and clear this time?

  • I have a problem with my rockets in this little Space Shooter game I'm working on.

    Using Z and C you can fire rocket to the enemy. With each rocket, i also spawn a rocket exhaust sprite just to make it look cool. On collision with an enemy, the rocket is destroyed (as in removed). Any other rockets keep flying forward. I also tell it to destroy the rocket exhaust but instead of destroying the exhaust of the rocket that hit the enemy all the exhaust from all the rocket currently on the screen are destroyed as well. :o

    You can see it here: Space Shooter

    Wait for an enemy to appear and fire a bunch of rockets at it using Z and/or C. When one hits the enemy, you'll see that the rocket exhaust of all the other rockets are killed as well. I only want to kill the exhaust of the rocket that hit the enemy.

    How can i fix this?

  • It's fixed!

    It didn't crash for me this time.

  • Ash, try changing a global var in an old project that has been created before the r66 release.

    It crashed for me when i changed the var.

    But!

    It didn't crash when i changed the global var in a new project created with your r66.4 build.

    What gives?

  • Ok, here are my findings:

    I started a new project and added a global var.

    Then i applied the condition and action. No crash.

    Then i opened up my existing project i was initially working on before the r66 release, followed the same steps, and it crashed.

    There's no waffles.txt to be found on my desktop though. I searched my C and D drives, nothing, no waffles.

  • If you want to give it another try with TeamViewer instead, just call me. :)

  • I have the same issue. I purchased a copy BEFORE i made the website account.

    Fix? <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Though this is actually my 5th post, i do want to introduce myself.

    I go by the name alias 'The Mighty Atom', the same name that was given to one particular episode of the that British supermarionation show from the 60'ies.

    Just started working with Construct and it's lots of fun, despite the fact that it's still being worked on.

    Im very active in the Half-Life mapping/level design community known as TWHL (The Whole Half-Life) Take a look and find my profiles to see my maps and mods.

    Im a also a space geek and i love rockets and space, as well as NASA. Too bad to see the space shuttle retire. Looking forward to its successor.

    Im also pretty decent with the Visual Basic .NET programming language, but there still many area's im not familiar with yet.

    Well, i guess that's all i have to share for now.

    See you on the forums! <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Yeah, i found the thread in the Bugs forum right after i posted that.

    I'll be waiting for a fix. :)

  • Strange case indeed!

    Im willing to let you use my computer to run your tests.

    May i suggest TeamViewer to establish a safe connection? It's free and it requires no installation, it can be used on the fly.

    Unless i was too late and you already did it?

  • Ah, yes, that makes sense. I guess it WAS very easy. :)

    But!

    When i add my own global variable and enter int(random(2)) in the value textbox, Construct 2 crashes when click the Done button:

    <img src="http://www.themightyatom.nl/screenshots/C2CheckFailure.jpg" border="0" />

    It does this every time a try it again. What now? :(
