  • Anyone know what the "OPT-OUT" when putting games on Google Playstore is all about?

  • I tried it on my Galaxy tablet and it worked fine.

My tablet for some reason has given me an error message when the background was bigger than 2024x2024, so you might want to keep that in mind.

    Thanks for the info!

  • Are you using a Behavior to accomplish this? If so, set the object's Rotation to "no". Sorry that's all I can say without seeing code.

  • Hunger Games meets Tomb Raider!

  • "The foregoing provision does not apply to any User Content you upload"

They just want to share that:

    1. You used their services

    2. What user info you give them

    3. To be able to quote you from their site

...and stuff like them to help their marketing.

it does not apply to any User Content you upload which would be your game.

    Feel better?

  • Interesting, have you read the book "Game Design: Secrets of the Sages"? You can buy a used one on Amazon for $0.01! (plus $3.99 shipping) That's a great deal!

  • It was an interesting rough draft of a game. I liked the storytelling style at the beginning and "end".

What really annoyed me was when enemy bikers could disappear offscreen. They could hit me and I couldn't tell what was going on. I also couldn't hear one sound effect or music at all. On the third level I noticed the biker closest to the bottom of the screen was getting his head covered up by another biker which looked very odd. So what all is the Cyberpunk gamejam?

  • I played your game on my old LG phone with Android 2.3. It worked fine.

I thought that the background graphics looked nice and liked the choice of "Game Over" text. Funny that you made a green flappy bird for the SewerFish.

    I have some questions:

    1. I am wondering what aspect ratio did you use when you made this game? The Score, Game Over and other such text look like they are all a bit to the left on my 45mm x 68mm screen. You could make the word "Score" and "Best" like 50% bigger so it easy to read-it's too tiny as it is and you have tons of room to work with.

    2. Did you mean not to scroll the very bottom?

    3. How big was the size of your background picture?

    4. What did you use to "sign" your game? the tutorial here? (I haven't done this yet.)

    5. Was using Ludei as a wrapper easy? Any trouble with that?

    6. Any weird issues at all when you were making the game?

    7. Did you understand what that "opt out" on Google Play store was all about that I keep hearing about?

One more thing, I would put the name of your game and whatever information you want the player to remember on your Game Over screen or take them back to the start screen so that the player can remember it more.

  • This will kill Android 2.3!

On my Samsung Galaxy tablet it looked nice.

    "Story Mode Coming Soon"?

Why is 500,000 coin a "HOT" buy for $49.99 when you can buy 2x 220,000 (2x$19.99) and a 80,000 coin for $9.99? I get 20,000 more coin that way!

The real problem was the gun seemed very unresponsive to touch on my tablet, that said, week one was a breeze.

  • TheDoctor and hollowthreat - How would you guys improve on or contructively twist the infinite runner genre? How would you make it your own?

How about I just make one? I'll put one out in a few days. It'll have a few twists, guaranteed. If anyone was wondering I saw there was a tutorial for one and a premade game on the Start Page when you start Construct 2.

  • Infinite runners are about the slow increase of difficulty.

Flappy Bird was just plain hard to start!

  • Think the guy looks cool.

Like the dash feature and wish that was also an attack.

Like the jumping with jumping forward and also back in a jump.

Just dislike to use the direction arrows. I like the mouse or WASD controls with spacebar for jump or fire.

A lot of the game is it's theme, it's story and what it looks like. To say you have great controls without anything else is like owning a Ferrari steering wheel, and yet, no Ferrari. I'd work out the whole game story first and foremost, but I understand if you are just practicing learning how to use C2.

  • Well, the more physics you add the more it costs you on processing and frame rate, most likely.

So what exactly is your turret doing now?

This seems like a totally doable.

  • Sure, that would be nice, but I'm sooooooo much looking forward to working with the multiplayer capability with peer-to-peer connections.

  • So many ways to do this, all depends on how dark you want the room that is not lit, so on and so forth.

What if you just had 2 layers? One for the background with items you see and a layer on top of that with a hole you can see through and move that whole layer? Of course the canvas for the top layer would extend beyond your window in all views. There are certainly other tricks along this line with just 2 layers, again, it all depends on the exact type of look you are going for.

Maybe you are going for an effect like in this game?
