    Still slow.

  • Congrats on hitting your goal.

My son has been trying to make an animated cartoon with his cousin to post to youtube. Just today he said "Wouldn't it be great if there was a way just to take the pieces you want to move and move them, instead of drawing them again?" Now there may be other software out there that does this, but it sounded very much like Spriter to me. Seems like it would be great for basic web cartoons, even just plugged into C2.

Anime studio is ready for it, with sound ^^

Spriter, one day, will be great, and I wait this day looking forward.

  • Can someone just upload the latest build in a mirror please, it took me 18 minutes to download =

    Thanks.

  • Sprite Organizer:

To help more on Scirra, I want learn from the 0 and build up a tool where you'll can manipulate various images, selecting them all from your Explorer, and them, export it in a sprite strip, ready to be added on the animation menu.

    How it work:

In any browser, you'll have the opportunity of import with a multi-selecting upload button your sprites to the tool.

One time uploaded the content, you'll be ready to manipulate the mosaic of sprites, crop, re-size, align, zoom, move, mirror, add effects, ghosts, change his colors, opacity, and (if I learn it at this stage) swap specific colors, then, export it in a strip of sprites.

A time ago, I saw somewhere a tool where you can read gif files and convert them to a mosaic (Game maker?), it's possible, and I'll learn how.

So, I hope you liked almost one of my tools and I wish you to desire the best for this tool, because it'll be freeware and opensource, made just for help you.

    Old Sprite Organizer:

Zip your sprites splinting each frame in one new file, organize they by name or select them in order, upload and they'll be organized aligned by the middle bottom. I tried to learn AS3 to improve my tool, but C2 come out and I released it as it is now.

  • Maybe this would work better?

    For Each (ordered)

    Object: SortedSprite

    Expression: SortedSprite.Y

    Ascending

    ----> Move to front

    Smart, very smart =]

I need to test it and see if work at a good fps ^^

  • Great solutions, I would like know if someday it become official, to be used on Arcade.

Thanks you for sharing your ideas, folks.

  • I'm figuring out how to handle the overlapping issues on a RPG game.

To make a screen, imagine a old RPG like Zelda 16bits.

Let's brainstorm about it and hit a final solution until the official Behavior don't come out.

The Problem: In Generic RPG Games, the hero overlap objects on the map, like trees, rocks, grass, houses, etc.

The First Alternative: Make a code for each object type on the canvas check if the player.X and Y is over or under his object.X and Y.

This way you will need to setup the X and Y origin always where you want the objects and player touch the ground. Many people handle this on Flash using a shadow, so, if something is below the middle point of the character shadow, it will overlap the player, if not, will go behind (one level).

The actual problem using this way is: you can't know if the player is the next object behind or on the front of the object, so, how do you setup it to go 1 level behind the player? You can't, it don't have an index (or I missed this part of study).

Do you did another solution? another way? share with us.

  • That's all true Professor! and Welcome.

  • I'm talking about the miniature of the game, not about the sample game, what was made with the intention of learning and teaching purposes =

Sometimes you update the game and become necessary to update the miniature, that image showing a preview of the game, like in my signature..

    That's it, simple ^^

  • Feel free to watch my code.

The easiest way to achieve your challenge is using detectors and testing the right situations...

  • Thanks very much, very nice software. The "FREE" in here is what I liked more xD

  • I'm from Brazil, my friend is from Argentina and he is having the same issue, another one on Japan is downloading with good speed, but the Australian isn't.

If I use the download accelerator, or anything else to speed up the connection, the download keep the same speed with more connections, so, I believe something is restricting the speed, maybe a script from arcade, to maintain the site and the server throttling always low.

My main site is located on Texas, I have a slot there, and my route from there is very fast, like the route of my another sites located on Massachusetts.

But I stop here, because I'm not an expert in this issue and I can't help much more than this descriptions and tests (made by my friends).

We can host the files on mirror servers too? like dropbox (posted on topics, for example).
