  • What other games have you made already?

  • Was just about to start a new thread when I saw this one.

Been happening to me for the past three beta updates. Including the latest r135. I can't find any patterns except for having the program open for an extended period of time. Like two or three hours +

  • Why are you trying to open other .exe files? You shouldn't need to do this at all.

  • I am not at home right so I can't confirm this but if you add the browser feature, there may be an option in there. If not then I think you are out of luck for using that button.

In the mean time, you could create a button in the game window itself. A little pause button in the top right corner would work.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean for that to be sarcastic.

I recommend running Windows update. After you have done that, let us know what happened.

EDIT: I believe the .aac converter is actually a part of Windows Media Player. Make sure you update that as well. It may be listed under "Optional Updates" inside Windows Update.

  • I used to use the bullet behavior and then make my sprites smaller. Then I found parallax. Using parallax is easier in my opinion.

  • Update Windows.

  • I should mention that the other art assets are from Scirra's graphic pack. They are just being used as place holders right now.

I am leaning towards Tree 3 right now. I am going to spruce it up a bit and then update the game on the arcade. See how it looks in action.

EDIT: This is what I came up with. Off to bed, leave comments.

  • Wow, thank you for taking the time to put this together. I can see how what I was doing wrong with my functions. I was calling Global variables instead of parameters.

Again, thank you so much. I'm going to sit down in a bit and try to figure out what you did here.

    Thank You,

  • Hey hey,

I made a tree and I have placed a few copies of them around my platformer. I now want to use that same tree and add an effect to it and put it in the background. My problem is, when I add the effect it applies it to all the trees in my project. Is there a way around this? Or should I just import another copy of the tree?

    Thank You,

    Stephen

  • Hey you,

Just want to see what you all think about these trees. I think number 1 is repeatable and doesn't stand out as much. Which could be good for a platform style game.

Tree 2 on the other hand is really alive and bright. Who doesn't love eye-candy?

Tree 3 is sort of in between.

What do you think I should use and why? Thanks!

  • Well, almost the end of the day now. Can anyone else give me some advice on how to handle this?

Even if you just have turn based attacks with the ability to select a target and use skills...

Any example capx's I could dissect?

    Thank you,

    Stephen

  • Hey everyone,

I was just playing around in Illustrator and I made this fun/summer field background thing, lol. Not sure what to call it. Anyways, someone might find it useful.

    Free for all.

  • I give up for now. I don't understand functions or anything really, lol.

Here is the latest build I was working on.
