  • Good question, I have been looking for a way to make spike or other crushing type enemies / traps inside my game while using physics behaviors and or properties.. I have I made a suggestion to ashley to add motors and prismatic joints to the physics joints and behaviors.. I'm simply wanting a way to make a spike object up and down at a speed and distance I specify, and this is inside my physics based game.. I thought about using a invisible block trigger it to move up and down, but a motor and joint setup for this would be the correct most elegant solution to go with..

  • I love this! I have been looking for a good application to do this very thing, for a game I have had on the backburner for a while now, with 3D created character painted in 3dcoat etc.. and did screen capture and broke him down into separate parts, so far I have worked with tradnux, and several other similar apps, but thus far, this app seems to be the most of everything that I am looking for!

Thank you very very much! You are awesome!

  • ^ Only that this software never promised any scripting at all, it just simply was not C2's goal. It is not a "mentality", there are many reasons beyond "not liking" or not "being able" to do it. Also, many of us make art of several forms, making music and spriting being two things that are very time consuming, why would I want to consume even more time on scripting when I just simply do not have it? I have scripted before, and as a personal opinion I don't see the point of it in a software like C2 and I will never go back to scripting if I don't have to.

I also agree... Now don't get me wrong, the clicking together games is awesome! But, any seriously intensive games with many many objects and events etc.. can get quite complicated really quick, with that many events and actions, and there are some things sequences, that would just be easier to understand if you could bang out a quick piece of script.. and yes they never did promise a hint of coding ability, but we are trying to help make construct the defacto standard game making app no??

So, since Javascript is already being used for plugins / addons, why not simply let us use this in areas to define actions to respond to the events, like with a button after selecting an event, either drag and drop an pre-made action, or click a button and type some code in??

    Just an idea..

  • Very Nice.. Has anyone else done something else with this? I would love to see someone figure out a way to have RagDoll and Platforming co-exist, like w/ normal sprite behaviors for walking/running/shooting/etc.. but then for falling, jumping, swinging, climbing, bouncing, getting hurt / shot have it physics enabled so he could thrash around... I have a sidescroller game in mind already, and am looking for ideas / ways to make this work together.. I may end up with faking the physics and just doing normal sprite animations for everything, but it would be alot kewler if I could turn it on and off, especially for my game in the works.. ;')

Thanks for any and all help with this, ideas, suggestions, code examples, etc.. Thanks..
