  • Thanks! Just what I was looking for.

  • Ah! Thanks Oliver. I misunderstood what 'move to object' relly was for.

Still, if someone has come up with a slick way of doing this, (i.e. setting z order of a group of objects based on their y values) then give us a shout.

  • Is it possible to set z order in-game, from script? -Like simulating quasi-3d, walkbehinds and things like that. The order bar does not seem to be made for this.

  • Thanks.

  • About NRABrazils method:

first you can reduce the colors of the images, instead of full color, you can try monocolor or posterized, but do not forget to change the image setting, this can reduce a lot of image size.

Would that really work in c2? I thought all graphics were formatted the same way on import, leaving you with height and width as only "tools". -Ie a monocolour sprite is still read as full colour by construct.

Can someone clarify? Difference between cc & c2?

  • Thanks, and don't apologize, Jay. :)

And thanks for posting screenshots. That is very different from what my screen shows. Back to the drawing board, I guess. At least there is no fps lag.

  • Hmm... odd. I was sure I got them to position evenly, calculating from the screen center out.

Could I abuse your kindness further and ask you to zoom in and out using "Z" and "X" keys to see if the right border pops up?

Is a lot of the borders showing btw? (ie. are they thick or just a slither?)

  • Thanks a bunch!

About the borders: Were they uneven or just not showing?

  • Thanks for helping out, Pecek. The idea was actually to make it keyboard only, but I might ditch that since keyb+mouse seems a lot easier to get right.

Loading textures per layout was an accident btw. <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Has anyone managed to get the custom movement behavior to work with 'blocking' collisions, such as walls?

The action "Bounce off" will do this in cc but seems to have been left out in c2.

    Strange...

  • I could really use some help with testing how this performs.

It does pretty badly on my crappy laptop (around 20 fps) but I reckon a proper system would have less problems.

If you can see red borders evenly around the edges, it means that my letterbox experiment is working.

Constructive criticism on the background is also welcome.

    Thank you.

  • Thanks Tuna.

I thought the fullscreen issues had been fixed but I guess cc is not being developed anymore.

    On topic...

  • I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do. Are you trying to move the brighter figures? You do realize that they are transparent? Ie the brighter little figures on your black square are holes with semi transparent edges.

Did you make this in the editor or some external program?

  • You could post a .cap file so other people can test it on their system. It is really hard to tell anything from just looking at the picture.

  • Sorry for self-bumping but I felt this could use a bit of clarifying.

Problem: The player is twitching when Alt-key is pressed while walking (Arrow keys). This only occurs in fullscreen (F-key) mode.
