  • Yeah, E looks great. I'd say go with that.

  • 1. Steam has auto-updating, but it's still recommended to buy it off scirra.com so you don't need to rely on steam.

    2. I don't think it matters that much.

    3. I guess Scirra just want to know if businesses are buying C2.

    4. I don't think so ;)

  • Just find a few indie games you really like, and look up the developers. they should be following other developers and so on ;)

  • C2 can easily do what you're describing - I have never run into any walls with its instance picking.

Its main limitations, in my experience, are:

    -2D only

    • No multiplayer (Without heavy use of third party plugins)
    • Poor performance on mobiles (not C2's problem, but HTML5's problem)
    • No splines, no texture mapping, no pathing system, no vector graphics
    • Reduced performance compared to native
  • Performance doesn't change, but generally you'll find that your life is much easier using different instances for anything that has the same or a very close function.

  • Yeah, I hope you guys took some pictures!

  • In the event where you rotate it, add another condition checking that the variable = 1.

  • A lot of independent developers will be willing to talk to you - especially over Twitter. They love Twitter.

  • Depends on how close the clone is. If you're not using the actual name of the game, or any of its graphics, it's probably going to be difficult difficult for the owning company to do anything about it.

That said, in my opinion it's in poor taste, unprofessional, and sleazy to release any sort of exact clone for monetization purposes. Why can't you just come up with your own concept?

  • That may well be the case - but that's not all bad. They aren't going to stop you from using another controller for the more 'standard' controller games - but it's very interesting to see a controller that can stand up to mouse/keyboard in those other games.

  • Yeah, it's certainly risky.

But honestly - nothing negative could come from that controller if it flops, apart from Valve losing a bit of money. And if it turns out to be a great concept, that's fantasic!

It's a sad day when companies like Valve stop taking risks - and this controller shows they are as ready as ever.

  • Hmm, that's weird. It shouldn't be the case. Are you sure it's just the extra layouts that are causing the problem?

    Ashley any ideas?

  • First of all, I'm not too sure what this has to do with Construct 2... maybe it should go in Open Topic.

I don't know of any such software that does this, you might have to write your own program. You also may have vector and raster graphics confused - raster graphics can be represented as a series of pixels at X and Y positions, but vector graphics are represented as a series of mathematical lines and curves.

  • Thndr I very much doubt Steam will even want web/non-steam games being played on their OS - it's called 'SteamOS' for a reason.

Regarding streaming of C2, I don't see why not - you'll need to have a mouse and keyboard though.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • sosensible it said very clearly what he was planning to do (and yes, that does include taking notes).

In fact, to be honest the price he's charging is cheap - very cheap. beufreecasse why do you charge such a low amount? (just guessing here, but to some it may look suspicious.)

Also, I'd get rid of the promise to post a positive review of the game. It's unprofessional and more than likely against the TOS of most app stores, risking the removal of the game or even greater consequences.
