  • Problem Description

Using savegame + browser object to savestatejson will not work in Chrome once the .json file reaches a certain size. It works fine in FF. Chrome has no trouble loading the files, regardless of size.

    Attach a Capx

If someone wants to check it out for themselves, go here:

    http://www.jadecupmaidhands.com/test/

    login/create a game

then open this file from the game:

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Aaz61BSeUDaGU1TU0xRUlmNVE

and try to resave it. FF will do it. Chrome gives me an error.

  • an object can not be distanced from it's own origin point.. try distancing it from any other point..

  • rexrainbow can't put triggers on sub-events..

I wouldn't use a local variable, either though. Best I can figure, just do it in two events.

you could put the triggers together with the OR and then subevent the variable plus a check for which-- yeah, see.. just use two events..

  • I'm just doing your basic

on save complete --> browser download savestatejson

It's kind of a map making deal, so the files get bigger by making a large map (not that big.. 1 mb for a big one).

smaller files work fine, but I noticed at some point (around 1.2mb), they become too large and trying to save in chrome results in "download failed - network error"

In Firefox I can save the larger files. I can even reload them in chrome after that. but they still won't save from chrome.

Does anyone know what's up with that?

As a side (and most likely unrelated) note, it's interesting to note that in Firefox, the large maps make the game run terribly slow. Chrome runs them just as fast as anything.. just won't save em.

  • Is there a glossary of some type that shows you all the possible functions for events and actions, and where to find them?

    https://www.scirra.com/manual/1/construct-2

In particular, check out the reference sections.

  • You could maybe use "on collision" which is a trigger (so it only happens once), instead of "is overlapping"

or you could maybe add "trigger once when true" to your overlap condition

or you might need to add a condition to check the count of the shadows, by choosing "compare two values" and checking shadow.count <1 (or whatever)

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but hopefully something here can help ya...

  • Just took my first dive into multiplayer. Currently, hosts can make stuff, and peers can watch. Speaking of that...

If anyone's looking to kill some time making an isometric land, it'd be awesome if someone would go play around in this thing so I can login as a peer and see if/how my multiplayer's working.. plus it's always helpful to see how other people use your stuff..

There are instructions on the page. I'll be watching the lobby for a while.. Create a room and I'll join! <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

  • ...and I didn't look at your game..

I assume, from your incessant self-bumping, that you want people to look at your game?

I would recommend a different approach... Just some friendly advice..

Snowbert was made in 48 hours from start to finish. by 1 person. Not by a studio or 'studios' as your screen name suggests yours is. I ain't sweatin it...

    Good luck, mate! Cheers!

  • this is just obnoxious...

  • layers don't really move..

is unbounded scrolling set to yes or no?

and what are the parallax settings for your layers?

(I'm pretty sure this is where your problem lies)

  • Try Construct 3

  • I've never used it, but I noticed it has a size setting with only two choices: medium & large.. You can always use a sprite and make your own twitter button.

  • Q1, not sure I understand

Q2. check the manual and/or the tutorials for 'function'

Q3. don't use choose. choose is a command to randomly choose. just put the number you want to choose. for the next one, you could say self.animationframe +1

  • what about the collision box of each frame? is it changing?
