  • Hey man that's pretty cool. Really simple idea, but fun to play and well made. I got up to the level with the 3 coloured blocks and couldn't figure it out lol.

  • Wow O.O

    Well done so far deadeye

Keep it up man, you are gonna need the momentum for the rest of the comp, plus the ideas I have had for Chamber

Lookin' sweet dude... that's a hell of a lot of graphics so far and they look really consistant and give that "murky/scary" feel quite nicely.

Remember, if you want any help spriting you know where I'm at

  • Finally got a chance to look at this, and I have to say it's coming along quite nicely. Damn fine work bro!

  • Heh, I started making a game on MMF2 a while ago, a trap platform game. Short Demo.It has crusher things and impaling spikes too. I doubt I'd ever finish it though. It's nice to see this game being built in Construct, and it's looking a lot nicer too.

Hahahah oh man that's great! You should really finish that man, those graphics are pretty sweet, I don't know why you think mine are any better. I really like the way the guy peels off the spike after it retracts, and the squished guy is just great

I like your idea about the windmill type traps H.I. I will definately work on something for those.

And LOL at Quazi... someone has been playing too much "I wanna be the guy" haven't they?

  • Ok so you guys have seen the ripsaws and the lava...

Here are some other ideas I have in store for miss hotpants:

If anyone else would like to add to the concept, feel free.

There will also be other simple things like standard spikes, and bottomless pits etc...

  • > the particle sprayer is there so you don't have to make your own...

    >

That's true, but I'm not sure it's worthwhile making the particle spray object increasingly complicated with more and more properties and controls until it can completely match what you can do with Sprites. If you want 100% flexibility, I think the best thing to do is just use Sprites - it'll run just as fast as using the advanced controls on the particles object.

I thought it was a pretty basic feature really... perhaps that it was overlooked when making the particle sprayer in the first place.

I guess I'll have to go write events for gravity and use tint shaders and stuff to custom make what I want :/

  • FarCry 2 looks just as good as Crysis, if not even better in certain ways... yet runs about 5x the frame rate.

    FarCry 2 > FarCry 1 > Crysis

  • I never made the transition from Doom and Duke Nukem 3D, except adding a mouse (which I did later in Duke3D anyway). I've always played with arrows, WASD has always felt wrong to me, and yep, I'm right handed. I've tried to get into WASD a few times, but using the arrows just seems more comfy and logical, i.e Up is Up, rather than W is Up. That'd be like using the gear stick to steer a car instead of the steering wheel. I think it's comfy too, I have my whole arm rested on the desk, it's nice and relaxing while blowing chunks out of things, and it feels different enough to typing to make the game feel more like gaming.

That's just what I think anyway, each to their own, but the choice should always be given. I know there's other keyboard setups people use too, so that's why it's good to have custom controls.

The only problem I find with using arrow keys, is... that's all you CAN use.

With WASD you also can easily press SHIFT with your pinky finger, space bar with your thumb, and buttons like E and Q for things like "use" or "reload" etc... with arrow keys you are pretty screwed when it comes to using any other buttons...

And unless you have to look at the keys when you press them, then just imagine that the W has an up arrow on it... or buy an optimus maximus keyboard so you can make the buttons look like whatever you want instead.

  • "Far Cry" is such a fitting name, because it's a far cry from any game that will run on my computer lol (yeah, that's getting old huh?).

I will be forced to mail you hardware... for free...

  • So like... make it possible xD

Because that would be awesome as hell.
