  • Oh wow pos, did not see that coming.

Hopefully it will be fully functional soon. I plan on using this commercially (it's for a client) so any new releases from now will be in EXE format, but I thought a cap would be good to help anyone who wants to know how it works on the basic level.

I am kinda figuring this out as I go along myself, so any help I can provide to anyone else who wants to try this stuff out is my pleasure.

I take it that it worked ok for you newt?

  • I am having trouble assigning the file/path refrence to a text box using the common dialog object.

I make a Edit box, one button called BROWSE, and a common dialog.

When I press browse, the common dialog shows the FOLDER selector which is fine. When I press OK, it will not transfer the folder name and path into the edit box.

    My code is something like:

    Folder Dialog OK

    -Edit box text = dialog.folder

    Nothing happens D:

    Please halp!

  • I'm not entirely sure, but I think this may be the first serious attempt at a databse program using Construct.

Just as a note: The program creates an INI file on the C: root directory called POS.ini which can be deleted after you are done playing with it if you want. When you create your first customer entry, I think it is not assigned a number... this will be fixed soon. I will be expanding the capabilites of the program to handle stock/inventory control, as well as a customer invoice system.

I hope you guys like it so far.

Also, there will be a major GUI facelift once I get more of the layout completed... so for now it looks rather simple and uninteresting.

Have fun, and post any bugs you find if any (I hope there aren't any!).

  • Yes I am crazy apparantly.

    This POS system I am working on is going rather well. No problems what so ever so far... however there are a few features that seem to be missing from the various application objects. So far I have found that I need the follwing;

    Button object-

to be able to enable and disable the buttons at runtime

    EditBox object-

to be able to disable the use of TAB in the box, so it will page to the next box rather than adding a TAB space.

So far, that's about it! Hopefully it won't be too hard to add it in

If I find anything else it could use, I'll tack it on here somewhere.

    Thanks guys!

    P.S.

Snap to grid on move and on resize doesn't appear to function?

Also, as I spoke to Rich already... the font sizes are weird in the edit mode. At runtime they all go to the proper size, but are smaller in the editing screen.

  • Wow that's cool man

Even though Dave has worked out this new bones thing, this could still be really useful.

  • So I heard it's all finished... unless I buy more stuff before the big day.

Here is a real quick video I made of it. You can see better than with pictures. I used my phone again though so it's not great. The little munchkin that comes running up at the start is my daughter.

    Enjoy

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Gunz is a pretty cool game... I really should log in again and lay some whoop like I used to in the old days.

    Nice design though mate

Looks fantastic, even without textures! I hope you still sumbitted it anyway... I bet they will end up using it at some stage.

    When do I get one?

    ~Sol

  • When that happens we will never be able to talk about these things without getting flamed(because the influx of people frequenting these forums, some many of them jerks).

That, I think is when I may be issued a ban hammer. A long one that hits hard.

  • Interesting style

I really like the tiles especially. The characters are also very cool, but for an art set they could be a little too confining in terms of the types of games they could be used for... only because they are so unique in their appearance.

While these are awesome and should definitely be included, I would recommend some more "generic" types of characters, like (for example) a guy in a white shirt and blue jeans... the every-hero.

Keep it up though mate, it's lookin' great

  • When I was younger, I was always a little "afraid" of girls in a way... but as I have gotten older that seems to have disappeared. The fact I am now married is irrelevant, because I snagged my wife about the time I was able to walk up to a girl, introduce myself, and grab a date... all within 30 seconds.

My advice is to just ask her, but be confidant when you do it. Next time you see her, avoid saying things like "um" and "uh" and just slap it down for her... "Hey, you know I was thinking... I really like you a lot and I'm pretty damn sure you like me a lot as well. I'd like to take it to the next level. How about [insert fun thing to do] tonight?"

Keep it short and sweet and to the point. Look her in the eyes and stand like a man when you do it. If she says "Yes" then try to avoid looking too excited in front of her (IE wetting yourself or something) and be all like "OK great then

That's probably about the best I can do based on my experience in life up to this point.

    Good luck mate

    ~Sol

    *PS*

If she seems unsure, or says anything along the lines of "I don't know if it will work out." Then do what I did and reply with "Sure it will... you know why? Becuase I'm the best there is and I won't let it NOT work out ." Then whisper in her ear "And I can prove it..."

You don't actually have to prove anything at all... unless of course by nature you are a total asshole that likes to beat women or something, then well... yeah lol.

  • Omfg everyone left me... I am all alone D:
