  • So something like:

    System.EveryTick

    System.Compare2Values(Distance(?,?)>?)

         -> Create train.

    But I dont get what im comparing. <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Thanks guys, SullyTheStrange; I understand what I was doing wrong, I do have one question concerning something a little different.

The trains speed is kept within a variable, So over time this would be increased to add more difficulty. But how would you suppose I handle the spawning timer so it will still spawn correctly with the speed increased?

Maybe for each increment in the speed variable, half that to get the spawning timer?

  • cacotigon, Thanks for the help, It's kinda working, but not spawning on the last instance to start with, Please take a look: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51270524/Train.capx

  • Hi guys, I'm actually struggling to figure out something I presume is simple.

I have a family of objects, every x seconds I would like to spawn a object from the family at the last instances x.

Imagine a endless train, I have the family with the train, and I need to spawn another cartage at the last carriages instance, I have a image point on each object in the family called "Back" so I tried simply Family.CreateObject, at image point "Back" But that did not work. I tried system.create object at Family.imagepointX("Back"). But no luck <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Anyone have a quick fix?

    Thanks.

  • Yes your kinda right, The email we got to state the new release had a wrong link. Here's where you can download r72.2 http://www.scirra.com/construct2/releases/r792

  • Oh yeah I see. Well if you save it as a project instead of the single file, you can print the xml for the event sheet.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Can you not just print screen it?

  • wgfunstorm, The release that cam out today was supposed to fix this. Check it out with the latest copy..

  • Families are a great edition to C2. Allthough I have not actually used them yet. It's something I will not use often But it's also something I could not imagine C2 without.

  • I make games for a living, But I do not use C2 to make them.

I love C2 is makes my life easy and I am working on some independent projects with C2 that I hope to sell.

I cannot say I make games for a living meaning only games, games is a part of my life, But I also make apps, website, anything techy really. I would also consider myself somewhat a artist. Im not so good at things like character design, I have artists for that. But user interfacing is something I do.

Being just a games developer is not a reality in my opinion, not unless your Rovio making something like 120 million on a project, they can afford to make only games for the rest of there lives.

C2 is a great engine, But it's a long way from being something to fund your life + projects.

  • Ahhh I see thanks <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Yeah I understand. I just don't get how tap tap did it when there a free game..

  • Kyatric, Yeah I understand now <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" />. I just thought there must be some sort of work around because there is this game called Tap Tap Revenge 4.

Basically this is a music based game, and all the tracks in the game are real well known tracks. But the game is free! and always will be, but there are in app purchases to download more tracks.

So I though there has to be some work around, I study A-Level media, part of our course is the music industry, And the problem with the music industry is piracy, the combat to piracy is streaming, So if I streamed the music then I'm not doing anything illegal but they might bitch. But maybe using youtube is not a good idea, maybe another API..

  • lucid, Thanks for the conformation; would you know how music based games use big name tracks then?
