sizcoz's Forum Posts

I have been observing this thread from afar, but now I feel its time to make a comment.

I commend Scirra(ashley,Tom) for their business risk, Hiring staff, premises, taking a big risk in direction with an established user base, and product.

I also understand how contra people are about subscriptions, but perlexed at how vexed people can also be with this issue.

From my point of view, I think there should be Several SKU's

    1) Hobbyist --no intention of monetising games--html export only--license restriction on monetisation $39 P/A Sub

    2) Hobbyist/Wanna- be Developer--monetise options--All exports available, not in house, --license to monetise $99 P/A Sub

    3) Developer--monetise-monetise--In house exporters--advanced features--license to monetise $149 P/A Sub

    3) Educational........To be decided on an wants/needs basis

Some common sense needs to prevail within , when potentially, one size does not obviously fit all.

By lowering the price for Hobbyist, who might eventually go on to develop, is in everyones interest.

Once again, the event system is the overriding reason why we all use Construct, and I do not envy Scirra for having to make some un-populist decisions in growing their business.

For what its worth I'm still sitting on the fence with C3, waiting to see what return value it will have for me.

  • Very professional, a big thumbs up !

  • Just a Little update.

    Updated to API 23+

Which means no crosswalk, so download size goes from 38 mb to a snappy 7.6 mb install

Downside Android 6 or above only.

    Cheers for trying

  • Updated to Full version, long overdue !!

  • Looks great, I will have to check it out. What technique did you use for the um.."bendy-ness" of the snake?

    Cheers

    loosely based off of this

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Nice concept, like it.

  • I have a problem with 3922, build with crosswalk.

moto g (2nd generation) android 5, gyroscope working without any problem .

moto g4 plus android 7, gyroscope not working.

    same apk.

note, preview over wifi, gyroscope working on both models before exporting and wrapping with xdk to apk

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: Published APK for android 5 +, without crosswalk, now works, upload 6.8 mb, instead of 28 mb.

To be honest, Scirra's own Cordova wrapper, can't come fast enough for me.

The Mobile wrapping to an APK is a tiresome over complicated process, with whichever service you choose to use.

Things need to be a lot simpler, so you can concentrate on game making.

  • Hi, all

Just released a new Mobile game to the play store.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sizzgames.snakeinthegrass

It's a Gyro/Tilt Snake game, just tilt your phone/tablet to control the Snake

    All feedback welcome.

My opinions on C3 haven't really changed much in the past week. I'm still planning on waiting until it is further developed before putting too much time into checking it out. But I still enjoy C2, respect what the developers are trying to accomplish with C3, as well as browsing these forums. When I notice something positive I always want to try to take the time to give thanks and encouragement.

    i agree with this sentiment

  • Hi sizcoz, I'm making a android game, and would like to use your effect, would it work there? Or only in browser indeed? Thanks.

It is HTML (css) code, so once wrapped into an APK it should be fine.

  • Well, that's a coincidence, I was just thinking about starting a new post on this, and searched to see if this has already been requested, and here I am.

Yes, I'm sure like many, I use sprite markers, for various reasons, it's a pain when you accidentally move these, especially when one object is under another, so being able to LOCK OBJECT IN EDITOR, would be a very welcomed feature.
