  • Ashley, Not sure but I thinks I found a solution for that issue

edit: It seems there's a bug in "Set object scale".

Here's a better example - particles used for visual referance

    Construct 2 Check failure

Check failure! This is probably a bug:

No instance value for instance variable

    Condition: i != instance_values.end()
    File: Projects\InstanceVariable.cpp
    Line: 176
    Function: class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > __cdecl InstanceVariable::GetInstanceValueStr(class ObjectInstance *) const
    Build: release 78 (64-bit) checked
    Component: Construct 2 IDE
    (Last Win32 error: 0)

You are using a 'checked' release of Construct 2, intended for testing, which causes certain errors to be reported this way. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this messagebox - it's useful information for the developers, so please include it with any bug reports! Click 'Abort' to quit (unsaved data will be lost!),'Retry' to turn off messages for this session and continue, or 'Ignore' to continue normally.

Keep getting this message everytime after adding Sprite to already existing Sprite Family.

    win7 64bit C2 R78

Edit: If I understand that correctly it crashes because I want to add newly created Sprite without Instance Variables to the Family, which already has Instance Variable setup. Yes?

  • yeah I'm aware of that, but couldn't add text objects to a new/seperate family either. Quick C2 restart fixed that problem...strange.

  • Is there a specific reason why Text objects cannot be included in the Families?

  • I've sent you a PM.

  • It looks like time scale does not affect animation in sprites.

Setting time scale to something below 1 (0.5, 0.2, 0..) won't affect sprite animation - will play with normal speed.

And one more thing, I have a sprite with two animations:

when "First" animation is finished -> "Second" start from begining

Changing time scale to something different than 1 and then change time scale back to 1, while "First" animation is playing - breaks that relation. "First" animation plays to the last frame, but second animation will not start - freezes on the last frame of "First" animation.

  • "Document Mode" was set to IE7. Changing to IE9 fixed all issues.

    thanks guys

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Usually after hitting preview few times (Preview mode set to HTTP) i'm unable to lunch my games. IE9 shows only white screen, looks like something is loading but nothing is changing. Have to force it to close by shuting down IE process in task manager and after that when I want to restart C2, the project is closing but C2 stays open and can't be closed - again task manager helps with that.

Using File in preview mode works everytime.

This was fixed a while ago, I had no issues with previewing in IE9, but it looks like ugly monsters have come back again.

  • "Your browser does not appear to support HTML5. Try upgrading your browser to the latest version"

on every game on Arcade and a big popup sayin

"Your browser does not support HTML5!

Upgrade your browser now! It's worth doing!"

Checked with Compatibility mode on and off.

    win 7 64bit, IE9 :/

  • there was a post on forum for CC about perfect collisions, can't find it now, but i have uploaded project file from that post

Don't remember how made it, sorry :/

  • It's shaping very nicely lucid. I'm really impressed with the transformation to the new interface. Remeber long time ago, when i was playing with it first time, and must say that I found Spriter very hard do use that day. Didn't got much time to learn so i gave up on it.

But looking at it now I definitely want to spend more time using it.

You did amazing job! About adding new features, I would love to see one in it, something that could help both beginners and pro - procedural walk cycle animation generator, with fully customizable parameters.

Adding that will make Spriter perfect, no.. ultimate tool for sprite animators! :)

    two questions:

    • can you tell at this stage of development what differences will be between lite and pro versions?
    • what features will be available in cooperation with C2

I'm curious cause it's going to be in a form of a plugin, right?

It's gonna be like an object on the layout with external editor? or more like option in the Image editor?

  • What can i say, You are doing great job. Wallpaper with C2 logo is really nice and elegant addition.

  • It was so quick i need to rewind it and see what's going on ;)

btw. that wallpaper on desktop looks so much better now!

and imagine that video with Professor Hans Von Puppet explaining stuff instead of that popups :D
