  • I'm French. I can fully understand what is written in English. I'm used to reading articles from UK or US newspaper. My English skills are actually tested twice a month : an english speaking teacher gives us a text or a recording drawn from The Economist or The New York Time for instance and we have to sum it up, say what we think about what is said, etc.

    However I lack fluency during those exams : I have to speak (paper and pen forbidden).

    In France people are lazy, in order not to feel guilty they argue French is a wonderful language (actually it's not so wonderful). Ironically they can't even use their own mother tongue properly.

    All English TV shows broadcast in France are translated, a very few channels enable people to turn it off and listen to genuine voices.

    We also have a terrible English accent as you must know. There are indeed sounds hard to produce : for instance the "th". Nevertheless some like "h" from "have" for example are easy to produce : someone who would pronounce those sounds outside English classes would be laughed at because it "sounds ridiculous". It is as if French people were trying to worsen their English.

  • Maybe you sould not provide a built-in image editor. Image editors from Construct Classic and MMF2 for instance do not have as many functionalities as Paint.net, Photoshop or The Gimp and they are not ergonomic.

    People are not given good tools do make their sprites. A "download paint.net and make it my defaut image editor" checkbox in Construct2 installation would save you time and make graphics better in user's games.

  • Although most of you won't need it, it should be good to add support for special chars like � � � � � � � � etc. Currently the text object shows them correctly in the editor, however in Chrome � becomes for instance �'

  • My sounds are .wav from .mp3, I could not check whether my wav is the correct format or not, so I converted the .mp3 again with the right settings in the convertion software and... IT WORKED

  • I tried with a subfolder sounds, it didn't work, then with full path "E:\...\sounds\sound.wav" it didn't work either.

    I will save a zip containing my cap and my wav on Dropbox.

    I'm currently having trouble with Xaudio : a simple problem : NO SOUND

    I tried everything :

    • wav, ogg, mp3
    • autoplay file (AppPath & "mysound.wav" with my .wav next to my .cap)
    • autoplay ressource (after putting my sounds in "files")
    • Xaudio as a global object
    • and I checked if the event that is supposed to trigger the sound works : and it does

    I use Construct v0.99.97. I could post a *.cap but it would be useless, I told you everything .

    By the way, I did turn on my speakers

  • I understand why you want to do that. You spent [I don't know how many] years on this project.

    Before switching to Construct I tried to crack MMF2, what made me use Construct was what is written on this forum banner "home of Construct, the free open-source game creator".

    It won't be Construct anymore.

    Why is Construct more and more popular ? Because it is "the free open-source game creator".

    Clickteam (more than 15 years old) is a very small company (2 or 3 people), just like Scirra. Check their forum. Check yours.

    If people needed to pay a license for Construct you would lost 60% of them, 35% would crack Construct (DRM free !!! World Of Goo, awesome independant game, DRM free, 9/10 copies are illegal), how much would you earn ? How much would you lose ?

    Let's open our eyes, there are not millions of users, unfortunately. For now it is like commiting suicide, despite HTML 5 export feature. Why not wait for Construct 3, 4, ... ?

  • Osmium will be a platform/puzzle game where the player, like in Metroid, can access new areas only with powers the main character (what remains from an unnamed damaged robot) can find in the environment. No ennemies, no guns, no text and maybe no hud (no need for it).

    Resolution : 1280*720

    Controls : Left/Right Arrow key -> Move to the left/right, that is all is needed to begin

    • New graphical ressources (new rocks, elevators, deadly items, grass, special effects, etc.)
    • Add sounds for footsteps, jumps, mechanisms, powerups
    • Bone animations for a power called "spider"
    • And of course new layouts (the game map is almost finished, layouts have now to be Constructed ^^

  • World Scale is not available in the event sheet editor. I cannot change these values at runtime

    When my character dies, time slows down and then stops. It takes less than 1 second so when my character dies, I "Always (every tick)" set velocity to (0,0) and angular velocity to 0. It is not smooth but it will be ok until a timedelta based physics behavior.

  • Hello,

    I'm using the physics behavior in my game and I set up a time scaling effect. Unfortunately time scaling does not affect the physics behavior. When everything slows down then stop, some sprites keep falling at the same speed for instance.

    I tried to reset the world gravity every tick with a multiple of timedelta. It worked but as I expected not the way I would have wanted it to . It did not slow down, the gravity simply disapeared.

    How should I make the physics behavior respect my time scaling
