  • I am seeing the same issue on Windows 8.1/IE 11. Also a laptop, but with newest driver (10/17/13). Construct build r148. I have VS 2013 Express installed, but I see the issue when running the layout from Construct.

  • I have been trying to get the camera to work for Windows Phone 8 with the UserMedia object. Any hints at the correct way to use it, or if it is even supported, are appreciated.

As a test, I added the UserMedia object to my project and said to request the camera on load complete. I didn't received any security request. I tried just saying make the camera visible instead, and still just get a black square.

I do have the camera enabled in the Capabilities section of the Visual Studio manifest before testing.

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • When you say set the "group" to active, do you mean an Event Group, a Family, or a Container?

  • Also, don't forget about this: engadget.com/2013/07/24/xbox-one-indie-self-publishing

"In so many words, each $500 unit purchased at retail this holiday will also run in-progress game code, enabling developers to get in on the action all the more affordably (debug versions of game consoles cost far more than retail game consoles, and tend to look slightly different from their retail counterparts). "Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development," Xbox corporate VP Marc Whitten said in a statement."

  • anyone?

  • Yes, when you export Windows 8 or Windows Phone projects it creates the Visual Studio files.

  • Specifically for Windows 8 or Windows Phone apps, I'm trying to understand what I need to do to only have ads on one layout like the Main Menu or a Level Complete screen.

I realize this probably needs specifics for Visual Studio, but I have not mastered where Scirra puts things when outputting there.

    Any pointers are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • Anywhere to get these plug-ins/cap files? Looks like they have long since expired.

  • Hello, my name is Steve Bucci. I am working on several ideas for Windows 8 and Windows phone. My background is design and animation, not code, so I'm grateful for tools like Construct 2.

  • Ok. I am trying to have an animation play based on the Boolean state. So the "is Boolean variable set" is the right way to go? It didn't seem to give me an option of finding the state of the variable, if it is currently true or false.

Thanks for the fast response, Ashley.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new object (sprite) or use an existing one

    2. In the Object Properties, create add a new Instance Variable (Boolean) and leave the default setting of false. Name the Variable.

    3. On the event sheet, create a new event.

    4. Select the object from step 1, click next.

    5. Scroll down and select Instance Variable>Compare Instance Variable

    6. Dropdown appears, no Instance Variable listed. It says "<none, add instance variable first>",

    Observed result:

Dropdown appears, no Instance Variable listed. It says "<none, add instance variable first>",

Similar to this bug from a MUCH earlier build scirra.com/forum/compare-instance-variable-check-failure_topic44665.html

    Expected result:

To see the instance variable displayed. I can see it if I back up and try the Instance Variables>Is Boolean value set condition.
