  • ***IMPORTANT ADMOB PLUGIN UPDATE**

    Sorry needed everyone's attention here. Last month Google updated their AdMob SDK to v7

    In one of their FAQ they say, the new SDK improves revenue across countries that yield (VERY) low earnings.

    eg: For Philippines I get approx 1200 Impression per day, and my Earning here is only between $0.22 to $0.33!!

    YES... THAT low

    So my question is, does INTEL XDK, automatically includes the latest SDK from Google or do we have to manually reference it somewhere?

    Or does the official AdMob plugin require change in the code to include the latest version of the SDK???

  • Sorry for being a noob, but can't you do this through your Admob account? link to different Ad networks?

    To answer that.. Its a YES and NO.

    YES because, Admob portal allows you to add various Ad networks and enable Mediation.

    NO because, Along with above step, you need to also add every Ad Networks' (eg: inMobi), mediation adopter/SDK into our Android project. While doing this you define the Ad Unit/Key etc. This is where someone needs to enhance the AdMob plugin, to allow us to integrate these various SDKs into a C2 project or Intel XDK build.

  • SamRock I haven't done any updates to this plugin since the official plugin was released.

    After a quick look at the mediation option it seems that you only need to add another Cordova plugin to activate the function. There has not been any change to the JS-api so the C2 plugin should probably work.

    Thats awesome! I am really not a Javascript expert, so you think this will work out, just including the APIs into Intel XDK?? I will look into the Cordova T&C

  • This is a feature request, posting here as I didnt see any suitable section for it.

    We developer spend lot of our time, money and efforts on re-creating our dreams into a Game! Its finally published on a store.. but then after a while we also expect some kind of a reward for the hardwork. Right now we have only few option IAP(rarely happens) and Ads.

    The official Admob Plugin is great! But not good enough to help us Developers make use of the other Monetization features that Google/Admob supports. That is, Ad Mediation! An app developed on Android SDK has an option to include various Ad network's mediation adapters into their project and expand the Ad mediation. Where as with C2 Admob plugin we are limited to Admob Ads only <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad">

    My game is mostly (80%) played by Asian market and the revenue/ad quality is very low there. I would like to add more Ad networks into my AdMob account so that my game can show Ads from other network when the Fillrate is low or the Ad quality is higher on other network.

    I read that the "cordova-admob-pro" (https://github.com/floatinghotpot/cordova-admob-pro) supports Ad mediation. Can C2 also please include this feature into the official Admob plugin? This plugin is just for reference. Can someone who is good at Javascript integrate the Ad meidation Feature into the Admob Plugin?

    This will greatly help us optimize our revenue model and ensure we get a better earning from games created using C2 <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Closing as this forum is for bug reports not feature requests - please post to Construct 2 General for feature requests.

    The Cordova plugin you identified is commercial and has a fee to use it, so we'd prefer not to use it. Note we have the Javascript SDK so you can integrate features yourself, you don't have to wait for us to do it.

    Thanks Ashley .. most of us here are not programmer. I am not so well versed in Javascript

    But if you could have Ad Mediation in the official Admob plugin it will be really helpful for all!

    On that note.. can some one look into integrating Ad mediation into the Admob plugin?

    Is your Plugin updated to use the latest Admob Pro plugin(Link below)? I am particularly interested in the Ad Mediation option that it supports!! Also it uses the latest AdMob SDK (v7)

    No not yet. I am working on some new content for the game.. But have this in my TO DO list

  • Families are not involved in the texture loading at all. Texture loading works by individual object types instead of entire families to avoid dragging in loads of textures that aren't necessary. So if you have one "Sprite3" instance in a layout which is a member of a family, only "Sprite3" has its textures loaded.

    Thank you for Confirming ASHLEY. However I am experiencing some weird issues with Family. I will experiment with a separate CAPX and report back.

    Okay I try introducing one InterAd at start

    The fill rate is always above 98%

    As for the SDK, looks like most have this requirement, incase of you aware of any Network that doesnt need SDK integration please do let me know

  • gamesura Ad Mediation helps when a Admob can not provide Ads in particular region.. for example, majority of my users(almast 90%) are from Asian countries and inspite of 3000+ impression, the revenue for ll the is very low. I assume the Ad quality for those regions are utterly low.

    So I wanted to add mediation where I can combine multiple Ad networks in AdMob, AdMob will return automatically decide higher valued Ad and show it to the user.

    szymek yes I am using Interstitial Ads, and inspite of that the revenue is low

    How often does your friend show the Ads? I only show teh Interstitial Ads if the player dies or wants to go to Main menu (every 60 secs). I dont show Ads while the game is going on.

  • How do I add a Ad netowork's mediator SDK in Intel XDK?

    Hi,

    I am going through various Ad Networks (AdColony, AdFalcon, inMobi etc), and everyone only talks about adding their SDKs(usually a .jar file) into a Android Project (written in Java)

    There is not way I can add this into a HTML/JS project as used by Intel XDK or rather Construct 2.

    This here a way I can use Intel XDK to integrate various Ad networks for Mediation purpose? Even with 2000+ impressions per day, I am earning pie nuts n Admob

    Did they already implement loading by layout ? I thought that was not yet realized and that every project resource image is loaded into memory at start up.

    As far as I know, all images are loaded at start up, and only images in the viewport are rendered. I think you are mixing these 2 up.

    No! Only images added to Layout are loaded into memory. Else no current C2 games would run on Mobile

    Thats why I am surprised when a Sprite that part of a Family but NOT part of Layout is spawned in the current Layout
