  • Hey! I'm in the process of making a large rpg, and it still has alot of work ahead of it. If you want, I can help you with what I know if you can help me out as well. I have an easy, concept that you could try, for just an arcade game. I created it in 20 minutes or so and played it a few hours XD. Though it could be a great, more entertaining game upon more completion and would offer alot of learning experience for you. Let me know if youre interested!

How far along the process are you witht this RPG? i wouldnt mind helping out as i could! you would get some help by me (to the best of my abilities) and i would get to learn the engine a bit better in return!

    sounds like a win-win

  • I'm right there with you on procrastination XD

there is always something getting on the way of i and game making, thats why ive decided to look for a learning partner somewhere on the forums! hopefully we can push each other limits and increase motivation

  • First of all thanks for the Tuts!

Secondly, do you know if you can monetize games using intel's XDK or other plugins for free or do you have to pay royalties? thanks a bunch!

  • Well im no mentor but if youre interested in having a learning partner i'm here!

  • Well...

I just realized that i never made my introduction on this part of the forum even though ive been lurking them for about a year now XD

My Name Is Sebastian from Colombia, i'm 23 years old and a DIY enthusiast!

i like making my own gadgets and computer hardware from scratch and have only done coding for Microcontrollers so i'm not very good at it.

a year ago i decided i was going to start getting into game developement as i have always wanted. bought a C2 personal copy, made a super poorly optimized RTS game engine (which i lost to my last HDD burning out) and quit due to work and school time constraints; but now i'm back and looking for a learning partner who is not versed in C2 but is eager to learn! so that we can learn from each others mistakes and make projects together or challenge each other!

    So....

    HI!!

  • Hello there, my name is Sebastian from Medellin-Colombia,

I've always been a DIY enthusiast and enjoy making my own ______________ (insert adjective here XD )

and have always wanted to eventually get into game making.

i purchased a personal liscense for C2 last year but havent had the time to actually learn the ropes very well.

i made a simplistic (and terribly unoptimized) RTS game-engine last year but have probably lost that knowledge due to lack of practice.

I'm searching for someone who is currently in the process of learning C2 and is looking for a partner to learn with. perhaps we could make projects/chanllenges together?

He/she doesnt really need to be colombian but it would be nice to see local people with similar interests.

now that i think about it i probably should have written this in Spanish if i wanted to find a Colombian partner XD. at least this way the post would attract more people?

    anyway

    Thanks in advance!

  • I would also love to see a video detailing the use of arrays (perhaps with an inventory system or something?) i get that youre busy. so ill hope and wait for it

  • Bump

  • Thanks for the replies, i guess a cheapo laptop will do

  • Hey guys, i was wondering what laptops are you using to develop games in C2.

Im looking to buy a new laptop. I want it to be as simple as possible in order to performance test my games as well as keeping the hole on my wallet as small as possible.

What are you guys using and what are your specs?

What laptop without a dedicated graphics card could i get away with?

    Thanks in advance!
