  • Any updates on this ? I have a similar issue. I can't preview, trying both over LAN and localhost.

Port kept at 50000, opened up in firewall and router (even tried with disabled firewall). I'm running as administrator and tried in Firefox and Chrome (both latest). R114 64-bit.

    Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

    Intel i7 2.67GHz, 18GB RAM

The error codes I get are 1232 and 1214 though.

I've tried with WAMP on and off, but could WAMP be causing a conflict in the first place ? I currently export as HTML and then use WAMP to serve it as localhost and can test then. Not sure if I can test on other devices though, or do I need to upload it to dropbox then ?

I do know I can't seem to setup a home group, so maybe there's an issue there (I'm a tech noob).

  • I'm not sure what your question is, what you tried so far and what result you gotten.

If the question is: is it possible? Sure it is. The foreground is then a layer with scenerey (or a fence), your actions are taking place at a lower layer (mid ground) and behind that is the actual background (which can be several layers as well).

If the question is: "I set it up correctly, but I'm only seeing my foreground", then the answer is: you have to make a graphic with opaque and transparent pixels. MS Paint doesn't support transparency, so you need something like paint.net (on a pc), or GIMP (these are free) or another graphics solution like Photoshop and then export to a format that supports transparency like 8 or 24 bit png files.

If the question is about layers and parallax scrolling, look at the wikipedia entry for an easy explanation. (I can't post links yet)

  • Loads of great artwork here people! Lol, Pinkie Pie, always awesome :D

I'm new here, been looking at Construct 2 for the past week or so and have only been following along some tutorials so far. Hoping to make my own games some day.

In the meantime I make art for others. Here are some samples of the stuff I made. (naysayers will be dismissed as *artistically challenged* ;), but good critiques are always welcome). Disclaimer: the unreleased game pieces are shown with permission of the owners or licensees.

  • Hi, I'm new here, to Construct and well, game dev and this community. I'm a freelance artist (illustration, 2D game art, concept art, GUI etc) by trade and Construct 2 seems like a great tool to get started with dev (would like to make my own games instead of just skinning others' games) and I found the tutorials very helpful so far.

Today, an acquaintance notified me of this JS animation library named Collie he was pretty excited about. I was wondering how it compares to Construct 2, if there's a lot of overlap or if there are unique benefits to both solutions.

Back to studying for now ;)
