  • Hi, I've found where the problem is occurring.

There is a conflict in the official browser plugin and one of your plugins inside of IE9.

To test simply run your example in IE9 and you will see the problem. Run the debugger and refresh and the problem appears to vanish.

I created a work around that works perfectly here in my version of the game.

Export the project as a HTML5 (not minified) and delete the debugging stuff and the project will work fine.

  • Hey, I've been using your plugins to create a game (Great Plugin btw), I've come across an issue with IE9 in Windows 7.

When you try to load my version of the game the screen repeats several layers and becomes completely inactive and freezes.

When trying to load your example the sprites you use for the grid show in the top left corner, the HTML5 logo remains on screen and the game freezes.

Is there anyway to fix this issue?

    Again great plugin

Thanks, that has fixed the issue

    Not a capx issue

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Can't reproduce

    2.

    3.

    Observed result:

Ui glitches out and buttons become inaccessible

    Expected result:

    Ui not to glitch out

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: N/A

    Firefox: N/A

    Internet Explorer: N/A

    Operating system & service pack:

Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, running on Parallels

    Construct 2 version:

    139 Stable

Also occurs on the latest beta version.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting my machine and updating my drivers. This UI issue occurs when ever I am trying to edit an event sheet action or condition.

I've also started noticing slow performance when opening several of my event sheets where the sheet takes 1 - 2 seconds to load and 1 - 2 seconds to refresh a change. Also my sprite mini images in my objects folder randomly change to another sprite image in the project for no reason. (next time it occurs I'll grab a screenshot)

I've proven its not the capx by sending it to another computer and it loads fine without issues.

Any idea's how to resolve this?

  • It might be worth adding a nearest/furthest event. It sounds like you zombies are checking all the points they could collide and not just the ones there near.

Might also be worth adding in some local variables on the zombie and the collision point. If zombie.variable = 1 collides with trigger.variable = 1 then run the action.

Ether way you shouldn't be receiving a lower framerate due to checks.

My final piece of advice would be to send in a capx to the lovely people here and have them look through your code just to make sure you haven't left in "every tick behaviors" that don't need to be there.

There could even be a solution in using the family behaviors but I don't have any experience there.

Let me know how you get on as this subject has intrigued me.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but what was your workaround?

I'm currently having the exact same issue and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link, really helpful. Got the fonts working in all the browsers now.

Still a little slower than I'd like on my own local tests but users shouldn't notice.

  • Try Construct 3

    Thanks for the rapid response.

    Chrome 27.0.1453

The text box needs to be activated for the fonts to work no matter how long I wait. Its using Times New Roman as a place holder for some reason even though the original font in construct is Ariel

    IE 10

Your correct, it does work but its taken anything up to 7 seconds to load here. Falls back to Times New Roman while its waiting.

    Firefox 19.0.2

Again, like IE its working but its taking a long time to load, falls back to Times New Roman while its waiting.

    Opera

Same again, takes time to load

    Safari

Seems to be broken completely here.

It might be a case of my machine struggling to handle to OS running at the same time as to why its taking so long. Chrome seems to be where this bug is mainly being found though

  • atmac Are you able to share your capx and I'll have a look for you

  • Would it work to set the hands position every tick to the body, then on each animation frame create a custom image point and set the exact position to body.x imagepoint(1) body.y imagepoint(2)

    Or something similar to this?

This way you can move the hands with the animation and ensure there always in the right place?

  • Change your event to

Button - On Clicked -> Action

  • Link to .capx file (required!):

    Steps to reproduce:

1.Disable the textbox action in the event sheet

    2.Run the game

3.Custom webfont fails to load from the local directory

    Observed result:

While the textbox is disabled or moved off the screen (not in view) the custom webfont fails to load. Re-enable the text box and both the text and the text box use the webfont.

    Expected result:

Text being able to access the local files without needing the textbox

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: yes

    Firefox: yes

    Internet Explorer: yes

    Operating system & service pack:

Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 - Running through Parallels

    Construct 2 version:

R.132 (Looked through the bug fixes in the beta releases and nothing is mentioned about this issue.)

  • Hi there,

I'm currently stumped on an issue where i'm looping through some XML elements and dynamically creating new objects to put the data in. The problem i'm having is that i want to position each new object below the previous data entry.

At the moment it's putting the data on top of each other.

I understand what logic i need, i need a way of incrementing each data entry by X amount of pixels but from the most recent created object rather than the first object.

Unable to upload capx due to copyright, but here are some screenshots.

    Logic:-

  • Not sure where to put this as I don't think its a bug.

Whenever I save my game file (with backups to dropbox) my construct window freezes and displays a "the window is not responding" message.

Normally I would see another window displaying the saving message but recently that has vanished (Since updating to the latest stable version).

I was just wondering if you guys knew how much the engine can handle on a recommended specs machine?

Currently I'm running Construct on Mac using parallels, 8GB ram (4Gb to parallels), I5 processor (2 cores to parallels) and a dedicated video card (1Gb ram)
