  • We had a Power outage yesterday just after I finished a download.

When I checked my purchases today I noticed one for $119 from 2013 and another one from the other day for a personal License. Now I have two active licenses on the same computer.

I wonder if I can just put the other one on my Son's computer and let him use it from there? They were both activated in my name. I guess I can still use them as two different licenses.

Technically, I should have given the new one to him and used the older one on the computer I have now.

  • That worked.

I am going to have to play with this a lot more until I get used to it. I am making a platform game but using the instructions in the tutorial. If this works, I am going to have it tested out with the people around me and see what they think. Then I will determine where to go from there.

Maybe a year or two if I live that long.

    Thanks again.

  • I will give that a try.

    Thanks.

  • I need the sheet because I want to animate the action and the single sprites only have one pose. When I go to the events I need to put an action set of poses for an action. It looks like when I post them each individually they will not be in an action so I won't be able to use the event action.

Am I missing something that is not in the tutorial? She uses sets like "idle to run"or "run to idle".

I am very new to messing around with sprites.

  • I have been following Ashley's tutorial for a platform game and I purchased some assets from the store.

the character sprites are all individual so I need to make them into sheets for idle, etc.

How do I combine these into a sprite sheet so I can use them the way the ones in the tutorial are used?

    Thanks,

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I had one awhile back for writing books.

I found that if you type fast, they tend to begin to lag behind. For this reason I would only use a wired keyboard and mouse for games.

  • Remember that to a point, you will make more lowering the price and below that point you lose again.

    It is a balancing act.

  • My name is Ken and I started playing games with a cap gun many years before video games was a word.

I am now 75 and can remember when we bought our first television. (Black and White. No color.)

That will explain why I don't know a lot of terms.

I may have tried Construct2 several years ago but couldn't figure it out. I seem to be doing better this time.

I am living in the Philippines with my family though I am an American from Ohio.

  • Looked at Spriter?

  • If you want to find out if you can make it, keep your day job and make games as a part time job at home. ( Set some regular hours for this just like a job.)

Make and publish some games. When the money comes or doesn't, you will have your answer.

Good luck and don't give up. Stick with it. There are kids making money at this. You can do it if you stay with it.

  • I plan to make and market my own games.

That said, I don't think anyone here could actually pay $20 an hour for a good artist to draw and make good sprites, when there are packs available for a few dollars.

That said. Your time is worth a lot. The only way to make that much is to make your sprites and sell them. You can charge a minimal amount and if you sell enough, you can make much more.

I would rather sell a lot of games for a low price than one or two at a higher price.

  • I am relearning C2 after a few years away.

I have tried rpg maker but you are limited to rpg games.

There are a few game making software programs on steam but they all have their limitations.

My 11year old can solve many of my game making questions.

It looks like I will be settling down here as this doesn't seem too difficult as soon as I figure out where things are. Also, if you plan to publish your games, this seems to be the place to do it.

As for learning slowly, I can understand that. C2 has a benefit that they don't mention. It will help you keep your mind sharp even after you retire.

Did I forget to mention that I am also a bit slow at things at 75? I just never grew up.

You can try those other engines, but I will almost bet you will come back here later. I did.

  • Twice today this has happened.

I post something and then as soon as I am completely frustrated, and I post a question, I find what I am looking for.

I must be either getting inpatient or old (75). I think it must be that I am inpatient. I couldn't be getting old. I haven't grown up yet.

  • I have looked all over the screen and in the manual.

    I searched the forum.

I cannot find the Preview button they talk about in the manual and in the tutorial to see my Hero jumping up and down. I know I will need this information later.

Anyone know where it is? Mine seems to be missing.
