  • I created a simple multiplayer game https://www.scirra.com/arcade/rpg-games/minero-11875 that performs ajax polling to synchronize maps and players. Some of my users tells me that the maps are not loaded due to cross-site scripting issues, (1) in general can ajax polling / long polling be an alternative to make online games? for android / ios / cordova support ajax call from phone to a remote site? (2) anyone tried creating a working game that implements polling?

  • Just want to share a prototype to test ajax polling and auto-tile generation. Basically this one is a simple game of digging, undead killing and a quest hunt. If you have some spare time, feel free to test it out so that i can get feedback and enough data to check if html5 online games via ajax polling is still feasible. The game is compatible to both mobile and pc browsers. Thanks.

  • Potato23 what is your browser? Not all browsers support webrtc. If games in the arcade don't even work, then your browser might be causing it. Your firewall also might block connections on certain IP or ports (50000 up).

  • You should at least own a personal licence to access multiplayer plugin.

  • Hi for the minimum charge what does it cover? Type of gameplay, platform, number of stages, characters and etc. I recommend if you can set a price guideline, publishers or indiedev entrepreneur may somehow estimate the game cost. Sometimes for small publishers we just check FGL.com for ready made games and ask for modifications.

    jayderyu i agree. I also use unity and they are really good in taking in user inputs. At this phase, they should have at least a check list of things they will be putting in C3. I think the problem is if they overly commit on certain features, they might disappoint most devs. I like C2 for building quick games, will probably support C3.
