  • Hi all,

    I am working on an application in construct2 that needs to talk to the DOT net application through either XML or TXT.

    I tried the following ..tried to read XML file using the XML plugin of construct2 (in which I am yet to find some success) and then was planning to write on that XML file back but i realised tht using the current version of construct2 it's impossible to write an xml file.

    the work around I was thinking is to if it is possible to store something as TXT file then rename that as xml it should be possible. But my question is .... is FILE OPERATIONS like read file and write files possible using construct2.

  • Everything good and fine. Made it work. but the requirement from my boss changed ;p

    no login required for the game now :)

    but the lesson learnt in login

  • I am having a personal license for R132 version which doesn't have the DEBUGGER option.

    The DEBUGGER option is available only in the R146 version.

    Since, I a having many critical projects running I do not want to experiment.

    MY QUESTION : Is it possible to download the free version of R146 version which has the debugger and upload my personal license which was originally bought for the R132 version. And run my old projects which were created using R132.

    This is quite urgent and do not want to screw up the projects I am working on.

  • Darklinki Cool Yeah I did that in the backend now...everything's working perfect...

    Just one thing.AJAX object doesn't seem to be working with the BUTTON object of construct2.

    rest i figured out everything...will post a complete tutorial soon..

    with pitfalls to avoid that can get u stuck on login screen in construct2

  • Seems like there is no Login plugin for construct2 as there is one in Game maker. Correct me if wrong .

    but seriously it's high time construct comes with in built tools for login. the database connectivity with AJAX works smoothly. Why not a login plugin.

    Although we can make (but am still fighting) to make the login work through AJAX object..it's still a huge task..plus there is no way to protect it from SQLite injection attack

  • can somebody speak plain english and tell me the following:

    1. How to connect the PHP code with construct2 ?

    2. is GET/POST requests posible using construct2 ?

    i removed # from the line which had 127.0.0.1

  • My construct 2 is suddenly not working.

    ERROR:

    Oops! Google Chrome could not find localhost:50000

    I checked the settings which is as follows:

    collegetomato.com/firefli/LOCALHOST.jpg

    I suspect the problem could be here in the host file in the location C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc which reads as :

    collegetomato.com/firefli/hosts.txt

    I changed the host file during installation of adobe application. But i do not think that should cause the problem.

    I also tried this scirra.com/tutorials/247/how-to-preview-on-a-local-network/page-2

    Nothing seems to be working.

    Would be a great help to me if resolved.

    I didn't get you when u said other files...what do u mean by other relevant files..are u asking me to delete (or move ) the uistatefiles and then try ?

  • I was working on a project file and kept saving the same time to time but when my laptop stopped suddenyl due to overheat...i restarted the laptop and found the following message on trying to open the project file

    ERROR DOCUMENT EMPTY

    THE FILE MAY BE INVALID.TRY CHECKING THE FILE IN A TEXT EDITOR(projects are saved in XML format)

    I do have the following files in the same folder:

    New project.capxNew project.capx.backup1

    New project.uistate.xml

    I have no idea how to retrieve them back.Please help me through this..it's a six month effort at stake

    Tokinsom yeah i was trying to do that this early morning..but forgot to destroy the object still nothing solution...

    an example would be better for me to understand

  • I think what I want is WRAP effect ...but not Wrap with the layout but within a specified distance only ..sorry for the poor sentence formation
