how to retrieve a lost project file

I was working on a project file and kept saving the same time to time but when my laptop stopped suddenyl due to overheat...i restarted the laptop and found the following message on trying to open the project file

ERROR DOCUMENT EMPTY

THE FILE MAY BE INVALID.TRY CHECKING THE FILE IN A TEXT EDITOR(projects are saved in XML format)

I do have the following files in the same folder:

New project.capxNew project.capx.backup1

New project.uistate.xml

I have no idea how to retrieve them back.Please help me through this..it's a six month effort at stake

Try renaming the backup1 file to remove the ".backup1"

Also you can safely remove all the uistate files safely. I had a handful of corrupte files once. Here is what you can do.

remove any and all uistate files.

capx files are zip files. So they can extract any relevant other files.

By keeping that in mind you should be able to restore your project. Good luck :)

I didn't get you when u said other files...what do u mean by other relevant files..are u asking me to delete (or move ) the uistatefiles and then try ?

how about linking the backup capx file :) we will see if we can help :)
