  • I've just published my clone / variation Swingy Angie on Google Play and Opera Store. I'm waiting for approval on three other appstores.

  • Same here. Sorry about that.

  • What fredclips said

I might actually give it a shot.

  • An infinite runner with renewable Health Points and weird enemies.

    Mechanically it's already quite advanced.

In terms of graphics still quite a lot to do but I make all the graphics myself,

so I got that goin' for me, which is nice

Onscreen controls are Kenney's placeholders until I make my own ones

(they are to be resource indicators as well).

  • When I mean no combat I mean no fighting, not even jumping on enemies or using traps to kill them. No killing but I think it would be OK if the player fell down the pit or something.

Now that I think of it one option would be to have enemies and some limited fighting in order to "heal" them, like they did in "Sailor Moon" (the only example that comes to mind).

  • So, I've been thinking recently about making a non-violent platformer without combat. So far the only ideas that come to mind seem to be platform based adventure / puzzle games. Should the player collect something? Should the challenge be in level design and getting to places? How to reward the player and for what?

  • Mostly soundtracks from Spotify.

If I know what I want to do and I know how to do it, I listen to more upbeat things like Modern Warfare 2 & 3 or some Marvel movies' OSTs.

When I'm trying to figure out what do I really want to achieve with some functionality or mechanics it's Mass Effect 1 & 2 or anything by Austin Wintory (Journey, Banner Saga, Horn).

And when I'm making vector graphics I switch on Netflix and have some Stargate SG-1 in the background.

  • It looks great. What software are you using for graphics?

  • Beautiful graphics, nice gameplay. You should port it to mobile devices. I'd play that on the bus

    (edit)

I actually played some more on Nexus 7 and it's even better on a touch screen.

I do have a technical question about a thing that I cannot solve on my own in my project. Can I PM you about it?

  • This: http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.co.uk/.

Seriously. It's a website with very simple tutorials, guiding you step by step what tools to use and what to do to achieve amazing results. After a while you'll have your own ideas and it will be easier to experiment.

I made my avatar this way (it has over 130 objects though )

  • Can't wait to play the whole thing. Graphics, sounds and atmosphere - excellent. Keep up good work!

  • Looks very professional and, I believe, appealing to your target audience. If I were a young girl I'd play that

  • At first I thought "Not another Flappy Bird clone", but fortunately this is something opposite. Nice bat, nice idea.

  • Absolutely beautiful! Is there a life limit or does the bear get resurrected forever?

  • That is really interesting. Maybe you could put some theme to it. I don't know, like a mole or some other blind animal escaping a labyrinth? I see (or do I?) great potential.
