  • I'm currently developing a bit larger scale project for PC and everything is going well, but I'm mostly concern about Construct 2 leaning so much towards 3rd party solutions. For example I have made lot of animations in Spriter imported everything successfully to C2 and in preview everything looks beautiful, but that's it. C2 doesn't export my animations and I'm left waiting for this to be maybe fixed some day.

I've been really careful to start anything big with C2 because I still get nightmares from my Construct Classic times :) I had nearly finished my game and decided to update C1, and before I noticed anything unusual my project started crashing without any obvious reasons.

Mostly I've been happy with Construct 2, but I'm waiting for some sort loading system that would let me choose when to only load stuff that's needed and not everything at the start of my project. The thing is that if players have to wait more than 12 sec for something to happen they're going to hate you, and if you try to entertain someone who's starting to play your game feeling upset. Well it can be a bit hard and they will probably be more critical towards what they see.

  • You're asking a big game company if it's OK to use their work ripped from their game for you to make money?

The person who ripped mentioned coloring them by himself, but it's still property of SNK Playmore and I don't think they like if you use it for commercial purposes without any profit for them.

  • My dream game would have characters that contains a complicated DNA mappings and that DNA would be constantly changing due to the different gene pools and environmental changes. A bit of luck and natural selection.

You wouldn't know where the game is heading towards because of the unpredictable ways the "World" is evolving. The characters would be able to pass knowledge to each other with a language that has evolved. They could communicate things like where to find food and where they got hurt.

Now imagine you as a player who traveled to this distant planet and you are able to fast forward time and see these amazing things happen. These characters could be hostile or friendly based on events in their lives. You could follow and see what is it that they are doing on a daily basis to get food? You could then approach them with a gift to win their trust. It could be that there's no signs of life on the planet until you see footprint on the sand or that the life has failed and the planet is just dead.

  • That looks good. It's quite similar to Spriter, but I'll keep my eye on this because it has a lot of stuff familiar for me from 3D softwares. For example the keyframe time scaling and keyframes in different layers are important features for me. I would like to have actually any animation tool implemented into C2, in a way that I could export my game as an exe via node-webkit or CocoonJS.

  • I really hope this will be added soon for the Node-Webkits sake, as well as Spriter support. I returned to my large size projects after Awesomium was tossed and everything is working quite nicely with it. Right now it's impossible to create a 3D ambient experience that even the most basic games have these days.

  • Is this what it's supposed to do?

  • If you've been using the CocoonJS object in C2, does deleting it and then exporting help?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I think node-webkit adds 13mb over the size of your project because it's a browser that has to run your game.

It seems that Spriter animations doesn't export from C2 to exe with node-webkit.

Small question. Any idea how I could replace my high resolution images with lower resolution images by stretching them to match the size and use the same animations? I tried to edit the Spriter file in notepad by updating new dimensions for my pictures, but nothing changed. In Construct 2 I also tried to scale the images to match their original size, but that didn't help.

  • Is there possibility to move my entire character, because it's not centered in spriter and it affects in C2? Is there some pro version of Spriter and how do I get that, I pledged on Kickstarter long time ago?

  • I don't see any future for ouya, for Game Stick I do see lot of potential. This shield looks like something that will actually become something.

  • I think this is better than Ouya and I see much more future potential with this.

I have created a physical skeleton and the head of it, is just invisible black box with the actual visible (Head)object pinned to it.

This is almost OK looking, but it doesn't follow the (box)head so well and kind of shakes when the physic is in action. It also feels like it's killing my mobile performance.
