  • This is weird. Construct 3 crashed on me...no big deal I just closed my browser opened it back up and went back into my project. Since then it looks like the horizontal scroll bar and tabs for layers, tilemap, etc are mostly off the bottom of my browser such that I can't see the scrollbar anymore and can just get access to the tabs for layers, etc. I've tried closing the browser, resizing it and rebooting and opening the project and still no luck. This behaviour seems to carry over to any project I open.

Edit: I'm using google chrome and I just tried MS Edge and that works fine so obviously an issue with the browser.

  • I would like to start organizing my existing events but I can't for the life of me figure out how to move an exiting event into a group. Doesn't seem to be a drag-and-drop thing.

  • Ah thanks! Yep pressing S did the trick. I tried dragging that thing all over the place and couldn't find a spot that would cause the indent to happen. But pressing S works for me so thanks!

  • I'm following the platformed tutorial and on page 7 it explains how to move an event and make it a sub-event. No matter what I do I can't seem to make it look like the image example. Either the black line appears above the event I want to drop it into or below. The black line never indents.

  • Ok, so are addons globally accessible between projects? I assumed that addons were specific to a project.

  • I purchased a game template that uses a couple of addons and when I try to load the game from the my desktop it says there are addons that must be installed first but it doesn't tell me how :(

  • If you have some programming background already in an oop language I would strongly suggest you look at Typescript. I'm a c# guy and also wanted to pickup JavaScript. What a sad little language. Definitely better than it was 10 years ago but still...then I saw a TypeScript video and whoa! All of my JavaScript issues were put to rest. It's a transpiler that converts it's superset of JavaScript to standard JavaScript but has support for things like classes, interfaces and strong typing which is awesome in my book. I primarily watch videos on Pluralsight.com and Youtube anymore. Occasionally books but they become outdated too quickly.

  • Awesome - thanks for the pix! I tried adding screenshots but I need to find a home to store them online first They should take your post and put into the docs for 9-patches. Based on your example I see where this should work for my problem. I'll give it a shot.

  • I'm not sure that's what I'm looking for. And while trying to create a screenshot I may have figured out a way to do it but I want to do what's considered standard for c2. I have photoshop. I could, in theory, build my platform in there using the individual graphics for the platform and save it as a new graphic that would be used as my platform. Is that SOP for c2? Do a lot of you use the assets you buy to "build" unique sprites in a separate graphics program and the utilize it in c2?

  • So, yeah, I've been reading the "Learning Construct 2" book and have gone through the platformer chapter. I purchased a graphic set from the asset store for making my own platformer style game and tried to apply the stuff I learned. One thing I didn't see was how to create a platform consisting of multiple sprites. In the asset they have a left, center and middle graphic for a platform.
